Legal Experts Evaluate Trump’s Lawsuit Against Mary Trump & NYT: ‘He’s a F**king LOSER!’

Mary Trump is not a legal expert, but she is a psychologist and she weighed in on Trump’s latest lawsuit along with the legal analysts n an interview with the Daily Beast:

“I think he is a f*cking loser, and he is going to throw anything against the wall he can. It’s desperation. The walls are closing in and he is throwing anything against the wall that will stick. As is always the case with Donald, he’ll try and change the subject.”

Admittedly, all of us at this site are getting a little tired of hearing “the walls are closing in around him” while seeing him suffer very few consequences of any significance. But then again, Mary Trump knows more than we do.

Speaking of which, the legal analysts that have reviewed Trump’s lawsuit essentially drew the same conclusion. One of the best legal analysts on television, Alabama’s own Joyce Vance made her opinion clear:

Yeah, good luck with that as a legal theory. It does sound very much like someone who’s desperate to try to turn the tables and certainly the former president has a history of trying to abuse the legal system for his own benefit. So this looks like another chapter in that same book.”

Rawstory summarized some raw quotes:

“Why isn’t this being brought by Trump’s usual lawyers?” Attorney Bradley P. Moss wondered. “Also, why does this lawsuit fail to make any reference to the fact they tried to block publication based on the NDA and lost in court?”

“Losing loser seeks to lose some more,” former federal prosecutor Katie Phang said.

Neil Katyal, perhaps the best lawyer in the bunch, a former Solicitor General, slammed the door:

“Yeah, I’m going to go out on a limb and say this isn’t going anywhere.

“You know, for one thing, if you really believe this Donald Trump, why do you wait an entire year before suing? He’s complaining about stuff that happened a year ago,” he noted. “If the harm’s so great, you wait until now?

As we reported this morning. We suspect (but cannot prove) that this lawsuit is punishment as much as anything. Trump would pay some lesser-known attorneys a set fee upfront, force Mary (primarily) to hire an attorney, do some discovery, drag it out, and as part of a settlement, everyone covers their own attorneys’ fees. It works as punishment, unless, Mary files a counter-claim, which she might consider doing, and forces the matter to go to trial or have Donald settle it, which would be interesting.
