Viral Video, ‘This Week in the Republican Party’: Trusting Biden Like ‘Trusting Weinstein with Your Daughter’

There is a great deal of suspicion on the left about the Lincoln Project. People say the LP exists to soak money out of the Never-Trumpers and Democrats. Some of the criticism is likely fair, they do make a lot of money. And yet, we haven’t seen an organization on the left that couldn’t triple the amount of money they make by staking out a position on the right. We trust the Lincoln Project’s motives. Politics creates organizations that make money like water creates canyons. Couldn’t stop it if you tried.

Besides, they’re damned good at it, which takes resources.

The other remarkable thing is that once some of these organizations got out of the Right-Wing eco=system,, they genuinely seemed to learn that maybe, just maybe, the left was right all along about some extremely important issues. Right now, the MAGA right doesn’t have a policy position, perhaps the single most important and unifying position among Republicans is hatred of all things liberal and some stupidity thrown on top.

Stupidity is the biggest fish in the barrel and the Lincoln Project certainly takes a fantastic and entertaining shot once a week in a feature they call, “This Week in the Republican Party.” It is both hilarious but also, just underneath the laughter, deeply informative and important:

Everyone is going to have their favorite part. Trusting Biden on the border is like trusting Harvey Weinstein with your daughter is sick, truly truly sick, but that’s the point. The Republican party is sick. Marjorie Taylor-Greene is a circus act, nothing more, doesn’t even have a committee assignment, and yet thinks she’s gotten more done in Congress than any other representative?

This is the type of stuff that the Lincoln Project finds, compiles, and presents, as well as anyone. Some of the criticism is valid, but they’ve done far more good than harm.
