When Trump Was President The WH ‘Asked About the Process to Add a President to Mount Rushmore’

This. Is. Unbelievable.

We all know that Donald Trump wants to be on Mount Rushmore. We have heard him whine that he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize and every time he brings up something “jokingly” (something he wants) everyone understands that he’s not “joking” which is why we all take the comments about a third or fourth term fairly seriously, or at least as seriously as one can when talking about an obese man who is already declining in his early 70s.

But apparently, the “joke” about Mount Rushmore is serious enough that the White House has “looked into it” when Trump was president.

No, we’re not kidding.

According to an article in The New York Times [1] about South Dakota’s governor Kristi Noem, the subject has been raised between the Trump White House and South Dakota:

After all, the president had told her [2] in the Oval Office that he aspired to have his image etched on the monument. And last year, a White House aide reached out to the governor’s office with a question, according to a Republican official familiar with the conversation: What’s the process to add additional presidents to Mount Rushmore?

Are they that stupid? Do they believe that South Dakota has a committee of some kind that meets every year to determine whether there’s suddenly a president worthy of putting up on Mount Rushmore? Every ten years? Do they call and ask whether the man who created the monument (Gutzon Borglum) is still dead? Do they not know that it is a federal monument? Actually, it is best that they don’t know that it is a federal monument. Let them believe that South Dakota “owns” it. Indeed, it’s a terribly complicated process and it involves spending a winter in Pierre. That will end the calls.

And what president wants to be the one asking about being on the monument? Doesn’t that alone prove that Trump is unfit for office? We have said this before about the Nobel Peace Prize and we were “joking,” but apparently we need to spell it out. Anyone who expresses a desire to win a Nobel Peace Prize is automatically excluded from consideration, and similarly, any U.S. president that doesn’t turn white in abject horror if someone mentions putting him/her on Rushmore, should be forced to step down. Thankfully, there doesn’t appear to be room even if someone thought it was a good idea. Near as we can tell, there is only one person who thinks adding Trump is a good idea and he didn’t spend a winter in …

We believe that Joe Biden should bring this up during the debate. “Do you really believe that, of all the presidents, you are the one who belongs on Mount Rushmore?” See how Trump handles it. He will go all-in.

Unbelievable, “process for adding a president …”
