Rep. Madison Cawthorn Says ‘Demon Doctor’ Fauci ‘Must Never Be Allowed to Escape Justice’

GOP Rep. Madison Cawthorn, from North Carolina, recently gave a vigorous speech, slamming Dr. Fauci and calling for a formal commission to investigate his role in the creation of COVID-19. Dr. Anthony Fauci is the top infectious disease expert in the U.S., and became a controversial figure during the COVID pandemic.

On the floor, Cawthorn said: “I am calling for the creation of a formal commission to investigate the true origin of COVID-19, the role Fauci played in its creation, the false statements he made to members of Congress under oath, and why the hell Americans are funding the torture of puppies in Africa.”

He went on to call Fauci a “demon doctor”, and demanded justice for the American people. He is not the only one accusing Fauci. Recently the doctor has come under fire from conservatives for allegedly having a role in creating the COVID-19 virus. As Cawthorn mentions in his speech, he is also subject to a rumor of funding labs in Africa which do inhumane tests on young dogs.

While passionate, the speech seems to lack any real depth or reasoning. Cawthorn calls Fauci names and throws out many claims, but he seems to have little real knowledge besides the basics of popular online conspiracy theories. Instead of seeming level-headed and rational, his ridiculous tactic of referring to Fauci as a demon makes it seem as though he is just jumping on the bandwagon of enthusiastic hatred.

The speech can be viewed below. In the minute-long video, much of his time is spent in graphic detail depicting the research allegedly done on beagles under Fauci’s watch, although his connection to this project was vague and unproven. This is not the first time Cawthorn has spouted republican conspiracy theories, as he was a representative that was eager to support the false election fraud claims.
