‘We’re NOT Going to Take It Anymore!’ Trump Rally Goer Says Civil War is Coming

This is where it gets scary. No, no one thinks that some southern MAGA military is going to line up against the rest of the United States military, but we continue to worry about Oklahoma City-type events. The ultimate worry is asymmetric warfare, the last resort of people that can be easily overpowered in a real war. Many MAGAs already see themselves engaged in a new Civil War and they’re not afraid to proclaim it:

From Mediaite:

At the Donald Trump rally in Des Moines, Iowa, MSNBC reporter Gary Grumbach interviewed supporters who have been arriving for days to the fairgrounds, including one woman who told him that a new Civil War is coming.

According to Grumbach:

But I talked to folks out here who are simply just angry. They’re upset with the way the country is going right now, and frankly, they’re upset with the way the Republican party is handling everything,

Other than problems at the border, which, admittedly, are a problem, but the type that could have been predicted, given how Trump dealt with the border, it is difficult to see how the country has changed. We are not counting Trump supporters’ existential angst.

And yet, according to one interviewee:

“I think the Republicans are about as weak as they possibly could be in congress. You have maybe six that are worth their salt,” said the supporter, listing Sens. Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, and Rand Paul (but, noticeably, not Grassley) among the good ones, and saying there are “two or three others.”

And then the woman being interviewed got to the point where things get a bit scary:

“So we’re just sick of it, you know, and we’re not gonna take it anymore,” she declared. “I see a civil war coming. I do. I see civil war coming.”

We have no doubt that these people desperately want a “civil war,” just on their terms. They believe that “their” country (not the brown peoples’ country) is being stolen and they want to fight about it. They are not willing to bring guns (note January 6th) because they’re not willing to go that far or go to jail. They want a cold civil war of the type where they can effectively shut things down.

How far can they go? It is very difficult to tell. But it’s very easy to see the danger and the anger. They do want war, they just haven’t figured out how to fight yet. So they go to rallies.
