Overheard on a tweet yesterday; “The War on Christmas will end when Christmas ends its occupation of November.” There is something there. Some of us enjoy Thanksgiving far more than Christmas and seeing Christmas get caught up in the middle of Thanksgiving is a bit annoying but…
But the White House is the White House and schedules must be followed, one of which dictates that the White House must be prepared for Christmas (or close enough) very soon after Thanksgiving. Thus it was that the official White House Christmas tree arrived at the White House yesterday. The tree is an 18-and-a-half-foot Fraser fir from North Carolina.
It is almost shocking that Trump didn’t order the military to go find the biggest 800-year-old redwood from Northern California and pronounce it the biggest, best, Christmas tree ever. Then have Melania paint it red.
Regardless, Jill Biden – the world’s most interesting woman – was there to receive the tree and queue the comparisons to Melania. According to Newsweek [1]:
In 2018, she opted for all-red trees that were dubbed “blood trees” by the internet [2]. A year earlier, Trump chose barren white firs.
On the red thing, it could be forgiven because it made the “all-white” Christmas trees at least look prettier. Maybe she was setting it up.
Decorating the White House was seemingly not a task that Trump enjoyed. A former aide [3] secretly recorded her saying: “Who gives a f*** about Christmas stuff?
“Give me a f****** break. I’m working like a—my a** off at Christmas stuff that, you know, who gives a f*** about Christmas stuff and decorations? But I need to do it, right? Correct?
Regular readers know this site’s beliefs about this, but we’ll say again. Many of us do not like “decorating.” It is not our thing. But if we were given access to some of the world’s most elite decorators as consultants, basically an unlimited budget, and a beautiful historic place to buff out? Yeah, we could really enjoy getting into that, despite not being the decorating type.
Anyway, Twitter had a wonderful time noting the differences in approach to the FLOTUS “duty” (dated though it is):
After four years, thanks to First Lady Jill Biden, a normal, happy Christmas returns to the White House. It’s the end of Melania Trump’s dark, dystopian Christmases of “I’m working my a** off on Christmas stuff. Who gives a f**k about Christmas?”. pic.twitter.com/t5NobsOeQS [4]

BREAKING: When asked what he’s thankful for this Thanksgiving, President Biden says “the people I’m standing next to,” referring to his wife Dr. Jill Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff. RT IF YOU THINK TRUMP IS ONLY THANKFUL FOR HIMSELF!

"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
This evening @POTUS [9] @JoeBiden [10], @VP [11] @KamalaHarris [12], @FLOTUS [13] @DrBiden [14], and @SecondGentleman [15] @DouglasEmhoff [16] helped assemble Thanksgiving meal kits at DC Central Kitchen for the less fortunate.

Remember when Melania dressed the WH up like handmaiden tale trees?
Remember when she said, "Who gives a F**K about Christmas?

No matter which holidays you celebrate, it's kind of nice to see Jill Biden putting up a normal Christmas tree instead of Melania's dystopian, snow-witch, Nightmare-Before-and-After-Christmas decorations in the White House.
