Fox News Hosts Recklessly Suggest Democrats are Making Up COVID Variants to Help Biden

We are about to present a Fox and Friends segment below that is not only not funny, not only untrue, not just dangerous, but so deeply cynical that it’s dangerous to the health of the viewers and the health of America’s democracy.

There is a new COVID variant out, a terrifying one, Omicron is the most contagious yet (and Delta was terrible), it might well make people sicker, and they do not know – but worry – that it might be able to evade our vaccines.

If these worries prove even 66% true, it is almost like having a new virus rather than a mutation. It threatens the global economy and America’s stability. People have COVID fatigue. Liberals have COVID fatigue. Those of us that got the booster on the first day available to the general public and have had delta (quadruple immune system protection) almost walk around as if it doesn’t exist.

The virus could wash over the earth with people unwilling to take it seriously, especially here in the United States, and having already experienced the financial blow and spending a fortune, there would be very little left to truly address another wave.

And so Fox and Friends decides that the Biden Administration likes lockdowns and the power and will introduce (real or not) a new variant “every October” (because of elections?).

From Mediaite:

“[He] has said we can’t fix the supply chain problem until the pandemic is over, until Covid is over,” said Campos-Duffy. “And now we see these new variants. So that’s the answer: more lockdowns, more lockdowns, more fear and therefore he doesn’t have to do his job of fixing the supply chain because ‘we’ll keep this whole thing going.’”

“Always a new variant,” Cain said, and Hegseth added “you can count on a variant about every October, every two years” — suggesting that Democrats would invent new variants before elections to gain an advantage.

Campos-Duffy laughed at that as Cain told Hegseth “you’re probably right. However, they could speed up. The variants could come more quickly.” That led to Hegseth mimicking a person on the phone saying “we’re gonna need a new variant here.”

Those remarks came after Campos-Duffy took a more serious view of Omicron earlier on, by warning that the variant “could possibly wreak more havoc on our economy and American way of life.”

We find the last paragraph more despicable than those above. It means they’re well aware of the real danger and yet willing to joke and make it political, just for ratings. All media will cover topics that draw eyeballs. We do it. But there are ways to do it responsibly, often by bringing people’s attention to something needed, a public service, and not simply playing on people’s anger and fear.
