Kimberly Guilfoyle Becomes Person of Interest in January 6 Capitol Riot Probe

While Donald Trump and his colleagues and followers continue to push election fraud lies, the House Select Committee investigating the Capitol riot that occurred on January 6 are turning up the heat on their investigation. They have issued several subpoenas for people who may have had involvement with the “Stop the Steal” rally that took place directly before the insurrection.

One person who hasn’t received a subpoena (yet) is Kimberly Guilfoyle, a former Fox News host who is currently dating Don Trump Jr. However, that could change since it’s now being reported she was very involved in raising money for the rally. According to text messages recovered from just days before the rally, Guilfoyle was bragging about how much money she had raised for the event in the role of fundraiser for the Trump Victory Committee.

According to ProPublica [1], in one text Guilfoyle said that she wanted to introduce her boyfriend onstage at the event, adding that she had “raised so much money for this”.

Another text claimed that one donor alone, “Julie”, had donated “3 million” for the event. That’s a lot of dough. Guilfoyle was referring to Julie Jenkins Fancelli, a Publix supermarket heir who Guilfoyle had developed a professional relationship with during the campaign.

The committee is really cracking down when it comes to find out exactly what led to the riots, whether that be who funded it, who organized it, who promoted it, or who attended it. Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) said that, “We need to know who organized, planned, paid for, and received funds related to the events, as well as what communications organizers had with officials in the White House and Congress.”

With those goals in mind, it appears that Guilfoyle may be caught in between a rock and a hard place. Despite her lawyers insistence that the aforementioned texts were “inaccurate” and “taken out of context”, she did not just help acquire funds for the event. She also gave a speech at the rally, saying, “We will not allow the liberals and the Democrats to steal out dream or steal our elections.”
