Fox News Host is Angry That Pelosi Didn’t Name Capitol Rioter Ashli Babbitt as a ‘Hero’ Of Jan. 6

Fox News host Harris Faulkner is in a snit because Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi made no mention of Ashli Babbitt as part of a moment of silence for law enforcement who lost their lives during the January 6 attack of the nation’s Capitol.

Referring to Babbitt, Faulkner asserted that Pelosi did not count the “fifth person who was also killed that day” as she recited the names of the officers., according to ComicSands. Well, for one thing, Babbitt wasn’t a member of law enforcement. Not only that, Babbitt was k*lled by one law enforcement officer while trying to climb through the broken windows of the House Speaker’s Lobby in an attempt to gain access to members of Congress, who were sequestered in the House Chamber.

So perhaps Faulkner had better put her hat on straight. Because as it is right now, it’s askew and she said the following:

“As I said  before, the Senate and the House were supposed to hold them [commemorations] simultaneously.”

“We don’t know if that was some sort of a mistake or just a change in programming or what but on the Senate side, Senator Schumer had just spoken and on this side, she had not quite arrived yet, so he went, the other went, and now he is done.”

“One year later, January 6, she [Pelosi] recognized the police officers only, not the fifth person who was also killed that day,” Faulkner said.

But Pelosi didn’t honor Babbitt, because unlike officer Brian Sicknick, who lost his life while protecting people during the attempted siege,  Babbitt wasn’t trying to protect anyone. True, she had spent 14 years in the military but over time she became a fanatical believer in the absurd QAnon conspiracy theory that claims Democrats are satanic pedophiles who have somehow conspired against former president Trump while he was in office.

And Babbitt used her social media accounts as a pulpit where she, at least at one point, called for violence that would lead to Trump’s second inauguration.

Lieutenant Michael Byrd, a member of the U.S. Capitol Police who shot and killed Babbitt as she tried to enter the Senate chamber noted he hollered for rioters to back away from the doors. The Department of Justice has cleared Byrd of any wrongdoing. In a press release, the DOJ noted in its investigation that no evidence was found to suggest that Byrd had fired his gun without believing it was “necessary to do so “in self-defense or in defense of the members of Congress and others evacuating the House Chamber.

So Faulkner’s indignance about this is just good ol’ garden variety Fox News crackpottery. And folks on Twitter were quick to remind her about the actual reason Babbitt was at the Capitol on this tragic day. I’ve also included a clip of her ridiculous comments below.
