John Voight Releases MAGA Cult Video: God Sent Trump and He’s Spiritually Guided by Lincoln

The MAGA “movement” transitioned to the MAGA religion (for some, not all) quite some time ago. A few MAGAs have made paintings depicting Trump on the cross (so sacrilegious to some of us), touched by Jesus, chosen by God, things we’ve all seen.

But today, actor John Voigt took the entire matter a step further and, in this site’s opinion, issued the scariest tweet we’ve seen yet regarding the deification of Trump. It is not a long video, and we’re doing a breakdown of the 30 seconds.

He begins by saying “hope has arrived,” perhaps a reference to defeating the voting rights act last night? It is hard to tell, but he immediately notes, “We shall never fear this loss again, for we all know the truth, it was stolen.” (Faith in our elections, at least from the GOP standpoint, is simply gone (if they lose) for a while and we’re entering new territory. No one can predict where it will all lead.)

Then he says “Donald J. Trump is Godspeed,” which is a mixed language, indecipherable because you wish someone Godspeed on a journey. In this context, it can only be translated as sent by God (Like he sent Jesus? It is awfully close. What other explanation for that language?), and endowed Trump with the spirit of Lincoln to make America great again. (Trump made America Great Again with God’s help and apparently, God thought it best to send a new plague with that greatness, to show us that Trump would spend every waking moment after the election protecting us from that plague).

Lincoln is deified now, too? How can Lincoln be “spiritually guiding” anyone? Catholics believe the Saints can intercede and ask God to help you, but we’ve not heard of a secular spiritual guide. This is, again, deification.

He ends with “God Bless,” the new MAGA religion:

This is utterly terrifying.
