Bill Barr Launches Furious Attack on Trump: Says Election Was NOT Stolen and Blames Trump for Jan 6th

No less an authority than the attorney general that buried the Mueller Report (and thus someone who certainly was in the MAGA camp) is coming out with a book that is going to put an end to the big lie once and for all… if only that was possible. But still, Bill Barr’s book, “One Damn Thing After Another,” which connotes the exact amount of victimhood that one would expect Barr to claim, does set out that Trump absolutely did lose the 2020 election.

According to Mediaite [1]:

In the book, Barr sets fire to the former president’s false claim that the 2020 election was rigged against him. “The election was not ‘stolen,’” Barr wrote. “Trump lost it.”

Barr went on to note that Trump probably could have won had he exercised a modicum of self-restraint, acted slightly more “presidential,” a little less Trumpy, and that – scary as it is to admit – is likely true. No matter how many people died under Trump due to COVID and its mishandling, no matter how awful the man or the misjudgments, the American people ultimately reelect on the economy, and for most of Trump’s term, the economy had been good. It was sh*t when he left office, having been the only president ever to be a net job loser, though COVID has to be factored in.

And then there is this instant-classic view into Trump’s hall of mirrors mind. As we have said a number of times, Barr is a despicable human being who got a lot of criminals off during Iran-Contra, a scandal in which people died, and likely got Trump out of extra trouble by largely suppressing the Mueller report, bad as he is, Barr is a f’ing genius and he wasn’t about to be out lawyered or outmaneuvered in his meeting with Trump regarding whether the DOJ found any sign of fraud. Barr announced the findings before going to see Trump. It was brilliant and not that obvious a move.

During that meeting, after Barr announced the finding that there had been no substantial fraud, Trump was true Trump, going third person and, finding the entire matter explicable only in the personal. You must hate “Trump.”

“This is killing me — killing me. This is pulling the rug right out from under me,” Trump screamed at Barr, according to the book. The former president added, “You must hate Trump. You would only do this if you hate Trump.”

Actually, he could LOVE Trump, but hate the idea of prison and still do it. Or he could simply have looked at the findings without ever considering whether he “loved” or “hated” Trump, like every other lawyer ever.

The Journal concluded its preview of the book by including this line from Barr blaming the Jan. 6 Capitol attack squarely on Trump.

“The absurd lengths to which he took his ‘stolen election’ claim led to the rioting on Capitol Hill,”

No, shit? But we bet he failed to mention that his enabling put Trump in a position to attempt a January 6th.
