Kellyanne Names the Women She Thinks Could Be President and It’s Terrifying (And Yes, Ivanka’s on the List)

When Kellyanne Conway has a bad idea, she really has a bad idea, and nowhere is that more apparent than in her new memoir Here’s The Deal. She notes that the U.S. is more than ready for a female president, but to her mind, it’s not anyone like Hillary Clinton, who garnered 65 million votes in the 2016 presidential election as opposed to Donald Trump’s 62 million.

Nope. As Queerty notes, Hillary is not on Kellyanne’s radar.

The women taking up space in Conway’s brain are the stuff of which nightmares are made. In an interview with Business Insider, “the former White House propagandist/professional gaslighter” (per Queerty) was asked which women might make good commanders-in-chief.

“I think you have to look at Gov. Kim Reynolds, of Iowa, you have to look at Sen. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee,” Conway said. “There are any number of Republican senators, governors—maybe a business woman here or there, who knows?”

Well, if it’s someone involved in business, let’s hope she’s not as big of an eff up as her former boss.

A “President Blackburn” would be probably more terrifying than “President Trump”. Imagine that.

But both Reynolds and Blackburn would be absolute horrors as president.

Blackburn is rabidly anti-LGBTQ. Not only is she against same-sex marriage, but she’s also against same-sex couples adopting or fostering children. She’s deadset against workplace protections for LGBTQ people and is fully in favor of discriminating against queer people for religious reasons. She also tried and (fortunately) failed to link Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson to trans athletes and pedophiles while Jackson’s confirmation was going on.

And she’s not a fan of Democrats, it appears.

Reynolds may not be rabidly homophobic, but she’s not much better. Her record on issues affecting trans people is abysmal. In March she signed a law that bans trans athletes from competing on school sports teams that align with their gender identity. That’s bad enough but she also signed a law in May 2019 that stripped funding away from trans Iowans seeking life-saving transition-related healthcare.

But Reynolds and Blackburn aren’t the only bad ideas Conway has in regards to women who might make good presidential candidates. At one point she was asked if former first daughter Ivanka Trump could have a future in politics, Conway responded “If she wants!”

Ivanka needs to stay FAR from government. She can just live a nice life as a rich person after her husband Jared got all that sweet Saudi cash.

As stated by Queerty’s Graham Gremore:

“‘Ivanka is very talented, brilliant woman who has succeeded at everything she ever tried,’ Conway said, referring to Ivanka’s failed fashion line and her work as an executive in the Trump Organization, for which she is now under investigation.'”

“She is a naturally talented, very kind, and focused professional who sets out to do a task and gets it done.”

Excuse me, I have to go somewhere quiet where I can scream.
