Susan Collins Called the Police Because Protestors Wrote With Sidewalk Chalk in Front of Her House

Perhaps Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) just wears her underwear a little too tight. I’m saying this because someone wrote a big, scary sign in support of abortion rights in chalk on the sidewalk in front of her house and she called the cops over it. Now she’s being dragged on Twitter for her efforts.

The aforementioned big, scary sign, written in pastel red, white, and blue, read “Susie, please, Mainers want WHPA —> vote yes, clean up your mess,” Queerty reports.

So what’s the WHPA? According to CNN, [3] it’s this:

“The Women’s Health Protection Act (WHPA), which Collins voted against sending to the Senate floor in February, would codify the right to abortion into the law nationwide and ban restrictions on abortion access.”

“The Senate is expected to vote to advance a version of the bill on Wednesday, a move that is likely to fall amid Republican opposition. Collins, who has introduced her own bill with fellow Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska to codify abortion rights established by Roe v. Wade, has argued that the Democrats’ measure is too broad.”

Collins claims Kavanaugh lied to her when he promised her he would never vote against Roe v Wade. LOL

Collins also supported the confirmations of Supreme Court justices Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch and she’s rightfully come under fire, thanks to the now-infamous leaked majority opinion draft that both justices signed on in support of overturning Roe v. Wade.

Collins is calling the leaked draft “completely inconsistent” with what the two justices “said in their hearings and in our meetings in my office.” But at the same time, she added that “we won’t know each Justice’s decision and reasoning until the Supreme Court officially announces its opinion in this case.”

After phoning police about the big, bad message on her sidewalk, the Department of Public Works was called out to scrub it with soap and water (thanks to our tax dollars, I’m guessing) and everything went back to boringly normal.

“We are grateful to the Bangor police officers and the City public works employee who responded to the defacement of public property in front of our home,” she later said.

This is Susan Collins “very concerned” face. Secret: she’s not concerned at all.

Twitter users have their own thoughts on Collins’ dumb reaction to an innocuous sign.
