Ukrainian Intelligence: Russian Military Coup to Replace Putin Underway and Impossible to Stop
This, to say the least, would be an absolute game-changer.
If one actually had a way to do real accounting, many say that Vladimir Putin would be the richest man in the world. He does have a house on the Black Sea that has a concert hall, an Olympic pool, and a hockey rink underground. Perhaps it came out of Russia’s budget, but either way, there is a lot of overlap between’s Russia’s budget and Putin himself.
I only note the financial portion of this story because the Ukrainian intelligence reports of a Russian military coup to overthrow Putin would certainly destabilize Russia – in perhaps a good way, but would also make a lot of powerful people around the world very nervous. Russia had two resources it exported, oil, and corruption. Simply look at our own former president. If there is a coup taking shape within the Russian military, the ramifications would extend far beyond Russia and far beyond Ukraine.

A coup to overthrow Russian President Vladimir Putin is underway and can’t be stopped, according to Ukraine’s military intelligence chief.
Speaking to Sky News, Major General Kyrylo Budanov said that a Russian military defeat would result in Putin’s removal and the country’s eventual collapse.
“It will eventually lead to the change of leadership of the Russian Federation,” Budanov said, per Sky News. “This process has already been launched.”
Should we believe him? It is great disinformation warfare to put out such a statement to the press even if it is not true. On the other hand, one might think they’d have played this card a little earlier if they wanted Putin to suddenly get a food taster. The Ukrainians seem to play things fairly straight up. It seems like there’s a good chance that they have solid intel that this is in the works and it also makes sense that some in the Russian military would see the futility and the costs to Russians and Ukrainians and want to stop this.
