UNBELIEVABLE: Beto Crashes Abbott’s Press Conference to Blame the Complicit Governor, ‘This is on You!’

Thank you, Beto O’Rourke. You picked the ideal time to interrupt Greg Abbott as he pushed a false narrative, a “false solution” pushed by the Right, one that only makes the problem worse. Abbott was addressing the country during a national news conference and blamed poor monitoring of mental health.

Gov. Abbott said, “One has been able to buy long guns for 60 years in Texas, but it has only been recently that we have these mass shootings.” And, of course, the obvious retort is that all communities throughout the world have people who struggle with mental health issues. That is precisely why other countries ban those weapons altogether. It is impossible to discern and treat everyone subject to a psychotic break, especially ahead of time. If everyone on earth was entirely sane and sensitive with strong psychiatric health, there would be no reason to ban much of anything.

This is why Beto crashed that presser…for these people.

Beto O’Rourke knows the questions and answers to this problem far more than I do, and thankfully, Beto has the courage and the motivation to act on it. He rushed in to interrupt that same news conference and call out this insane line of justification, which is all it is, none of them actually believe this stuff, and Beto put the responsibility directly on the politicians that allow these things to happen. From Joe.My.God:

Texas gubernatorial candidate Beto O’Rourke just crashed Gov. Greg Abbott’s press conference on the Ulvalde school massacre, where he and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick was issuing the usual thoughts and prayers blather and even saying that the massacre could have been worse.

Moments after O’Rourke approached the dais, multiple Abbott flacks began shouting at him, with one calling him a “sick son of a bitch.” O’Rourke was eventually pulled away by the police. Watch every moment of the mayhem.

“You’re a sick son of a bitch.”

This is why Beto crashed that presser…for these babies and teachers.

Thank you, Beto, thank you a million times over. The mental health issues in this country are not unique but we do have politicians that suffer from a uniquely American mental health issue.
