Melania’s Written Statement About Jan. 6 Riot Comes Under Scrutiny For Surprising Reason

Lots of folks are questioning Melania Trump’s written statement claiming she was “unaware” of the January 6 uprising that was going down, but not for the reasons you might expect. Instead, social media users have noticed something that’s rather interesting about the signature signing off on her statement Thursday, The Wrap reports. More than a few people have noticed her signature bears a striking resemblance to that of her husband, Donald Trump.

Writer and radio host Bob Cesca, commenting on a closeup of her signature couldn’t help but wonder:

“I mean, what the hell?” he tweeted. “Her signature looks exactly like Donald’s. You don’t think that’s weird?”

Another Twitter user added, in capital letters:

“Gee. It’s so weird how Donald Trump and his wife Melania have such a similar spiky signature. Who could have foreseen that two human beings who ended up married would have identical handwriting…”

But another user took this more seriously, tagging the Justice Department and the January 6 committee official accounts, tweeting that read “Is someone forging someone’s signature legal? This isn’t Melania’s signature. It’s Donald’s. There is no crime he won’t commit.”

Many users on the social media giant referred to a Yahoo! article from 2018 wherein handwriting expert Sheila Kurtz noted the “amazing” similarities between the two signatures.

“This is stylized,” she said in regard to Melania’s sign-off on a letter to actress Panela Anderson. She noted it is not common for spouse’s signatures to mimic each other. “Maybe they brought someone in to show her how to do it or[it’s] a stamp, but it is definitely stylized.”

This has also fascinated amateur handwriting analysts who have been wondering this very same thing for just as long. Daily Wire senior editor Ashe Short also tweeted an image of a White House greeting card, adding “Melania’s signature looks a lot like Donald’s.

The following holiday season, Nieman Lab founder Joshua Benton pointed out the signatures appeared almost identical in a holiday card purportedly signed by Donald and Melania Trump.

“Wait, that is Melania’s signature?” he tweeted. “Was making it like Trump’s part of the prenup?”

Seems rather suspicious, doesn’t it? I wouldn’t put anything past Donald Trump. He’s a desperate man and really seems to lead his life as if everything is going to collapse around him. And because I’ve been writing about Melania for a long time and she’s very indifferent to the press and much of what goes on around her. My guess is she doesn’t care if her husband just goes on and does whatever so long as it doesn’t involve her.
