So it is the day after, Tuesday, and there’s a bit of a hangover. Some reality is setting in. The stakes regarding what the FBI did and did not find in Trump’s safe couldn’t possibly be higher. But that dynamic will be broken down in another column today.

For now, we revisit the “reveal,” the moment that we heard that law enforcement, real law enforcement, and federal officials have enough certainty to do the unthinkable, serve a search warrant on a former president on the basis that they believe a crime has been committed and that evidence of that crime could be found in Mar-a-Lago. In so many ways, it felt like vindication, even though serving a search warrant is almost nothing in the grand scheme of convicting and punishing Trump. But Trump has skated so long without any fear, and now he’s afraid. One can feel it.

Many on the left unleashed their happiness in – perhaps – excessive celebrations, one of which is the great actor Michael Rapaport, whose performance in the all-time classic “Beautiful Girls” is enough to cement him as one of the greats in the books of some of us. Rapaport, to say the least, is not a Trump fan, and he couldn’t contain himself upon hearing the news. He instantly put a video up of himself celebrating, encouraging people to put the channel on Fox News, to “watch them cry,” even though, as Rap says, “They don’t actually respect him…”

It is an all-time classic, and though this morning, we have some concerns about the impact of the raid on motivating MAGAs (it all comes down to what they found), it is worth “celebrating” with Rapaport:

For a federal judge to sign off on a raid on Mar-a-Lago, whatever they are looking for MUST be something HUGE!!! Stay tuned, folks!!

I prefer a President who hasn’t had his premises searched by the FBI, hasn’t incited an insurrection, hasn’t been impeached twice, and hasn’t lost the popular vote twice.

The GQP’s TDS is through the roof. Bag the evidence, throw him in prison.

I can’t think of a more deserving criminal…it’s so appropriate for a wannabe mob boss criminal lol
