CPAC’s Texas Conference Has Gone Too Far With Disgusting Tribute to Jan 6 Rioters

Let us all start by being perfectly clear. Given Cassidy Hutchinson’s testimony, given the missing Secret Service texts, and similarly convenient missing Pentagon texts, January 6th was a conspiracy to overthrow the United States government. On a day that is ceremonial in nature, one that reaffirms an election that’s already been won, Donald Trump devised an intricate conspiracy, one that more likely than not involved the Secret Service, members of Congress, and quite possibly people in the Pentagon, a conspiracy that could only work if thousands of armed and raging “supporters” descended on the Capitol and ran Mike Pence right out of the building.

In most countries, if you take a shot at a coup, you know going in that you either succeed or you die. Those are the two options and only two options.

Only in the United States, with our Constitutional guarantees, would you be able to attack the Capitol and not go to jail for life by the people who did win power. But the MAGAs believe that the very, very few people who were held without bail were receiving the ultimate injustice, despite the fact that those few had been especially violent with the police. And of the people sentenced after a conviction (either plea or jury), only 40% have received any type of jail time.

Over half never saw a jail cell. They attempted a coup. But at CPAC Texas, there is a performance art piece in which a man sits in a prison cell crying:

The bit of performative theater was documented online by freelance journalist Laura Jedeed who wrote on Twitter, “Hello I would like to share with you the most astonishing thing I have ever seen.”

“At this CPAC booth you receive a silent disco headset that plays harrowing testimony from people arrested for participating in J6,” she continued, adding, “Instead of dancing, you stand around and watch this guy cry.”

Again, the people who actually did get jail time were the ones who had violent altercations in some way with the police, and they were there to “stop the steal,” which is obstructing Congress. Only white entitlement can possibly consider themselves to be political prisoners.

They are in prison because a jury and/or a judge put them there. The Biden administration had nothing to do with it other than prosecute people who broke the law. They are not political prisoners.

Such white entitlement, so typical. Imagine it all reversed. Imagine if the rioters were black.
