FBI Seizes MAGA Rep. Scott Perry’s Phone and Jim Jordan is Going Absolutely Insane

Yesterday’s news was so dominated by the fallout from the raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago, it’s unsurprising that an important new development occurred later in the evening. Though we were told that the raid on Trump dealt primarily or solely with the documents that Trump took from the White House, the FBI served a warrant on Rep. Scott Perry to take his phone. Perry is linked to January 6th activities.

After all, Perry defied the January 6th Committee’s request to speak to him, and we know that Perry texted Mark Meadows about whether to pin things on China. So when the news broke, it was a significant development in the January 6th investigation. From Fox News:

Republican Rep. Scott Perry of Pennsylvania says that the FBI has confiscated his cellphone. Perry, in an exclusive statement, told Fox News on Tuesday that while traveling with his family earlier in the day, he was approached by three FBI agents who handed him a warrant and requested that he turn over his cellphone.

“This morning, while traveling with my family, 3 FBI agents visited me and seized my cell phone. They made no attempt to contact my lawyer, who would have made arrangements for them to have my phone if that was their wish. I’m outraged — though not surprised — that the FBI under the direction of Merrick Garland’s DOJ, would seize the phone of a sitting Member of Congress,” Perry said in his statement.

Jim Jordan went insane; perhaps they are getting way too close:

Yes, and so if he guarded the United States honorably, then he will have nothing to fear. It should be noted that Rep. Perry is the chairman of the Freedom Caucus, which is the most MAGA of the MAGAs. We will update the story as warranted. But it’s safe to say that the pace of the investigations are accelerating at a pace that is shocking even to us.
