‘Going to Jail’: George Conway Says Trump and Attorneys Should Be EXTREMELY WORRIED

Lincoln Project co-founder and conservative attorney George Conway said former President Donald Trump “should be extremely worried” about the Department of Justice indicting him.

During an interview on CNN’s The Situation Room on Wednesday, Conway expressed his thoughts on the government documents seized by the FBI at his Mar-a-Lago home — documents that he was supposed to turn over to the National Archives when he exited office, Mediaite reports. As has been widely reported, some of those documents are classified, even though Trump claimed all materials in his possession. The documents were retrieved from his residence earlier this month.

In a statement to the Department of Justice last June, Trump’s attorney Christina Bobb claimed there were no official documents at his residence after the government removed boxes of records from the site earlier this year. As we all know now, that statement was a falsehood.

Conway lauded the DOJ for its handling of the case.

“I think they did a very good job, and I think that the response that the Justice Department gave was perfectly appropriate,” he said. “And I think just the Trump people just basically asked to be punched in the face by the response.”

Conway made note of Bobb falsely telling the DOJ that all of the government boxes had been removed from Mar-a-Lago and explained this could legally put her and the former president in hot water.

“The basis for that representation needs to be explored,” he said. “And she needs to get a lawyer of her own because if she’s lying, she can go to jail. And she could also end up testifying, ‘Well that’s what Donald Trump told me to say.’ If that’s true, well, he’s going to jail.”

Moments later, Conway added, “He should be extremely worried.”

I hope Trump is worrying, but he’s a man who seems to think he’s invincible, so I don’t know. I’ll just be glad if there ever comes a day when we don’t have to look at that orange face for a long while. That works for me.
