MAGAs are Obsessed with Judge Reinhardt, Who Signed Trump Search Warrant — Accusing Him of Being Obama Stooge (He’s Not)

U.S. Magistrate Judges are not full Article III judges. They handle things like misdemeanors and… search warrants. Their rulings are subject to appeal to U.S. District Court judge that are appointed by the president and confirmed by the Senate. They are as apolitical as it gets when it comes to judges. According to Google:

By majority vote of the U.S. district judges of the court, magistrate judges are appointed for a renewable term of eight years. In addition, there are a small number of part-time magistrate judges who serve four-year terms.

Thus was the position of Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart, the judge that signed the warrant to search Mar-a-Lago. The Right has done all it can to paint Reinhart as some bleeding heart liberal:

Notice the “Obama loving” caption there?

In fact, the judge, being a rather smart guy and covering all his bases ahead of time, has given money to both parties and has much closer ties to the Republicans than he does to “Obama.” In a kinda… cool? Maybe even sexy thing, his wife is ranked higher than him:

But one local prosecutor described Reinhart — who has been a magistrate judge since 2018 — as “well respected” within the Palm Beach County legal community. Reinhart is married to Circuit Judge Carolyn Bell, a former federal prosecutor who was appointed to the bench by then-Gov. Rick Scott, a Republican who is now a senator.

His wife would NOT be nominated by Rick Scott if she was a bleeding heart liberal, and it is highly unlikely that the home would be made up of judges with strong Republican ties and a judge is an “Obama loving” guy, as pictured above.

All we know is that Reinhart is being painted in the worst light and is in considerable danger according to social media reports on Right Wing websites, politics be damned.

It is very easy to feel sorry for the guy. He was just doing his job.
