One of the common refrains on the net today; “And it was just a search warrant.” People were obviously referencing the danger that could and would accompany an actual indictment or an arrest. This site has been saying for three years that the country was in the midst of a Cold Civil War. That cold war got hot on January 6th, 2021, and it is threatening to get hot again. We have all seen the reaction in the Right Wing media, but the commentary in the right-wing social media landscape is where things really get terrifying. Now, Vice report that the threats have gone to a level that couldn’t have been foreseen and yet now seem expected:

Far-right extremists on pro-Donald Trump message boards and social networks are making violent, antisemitic threats against the judge who reportedly signed the warrant that allowed the FBI to search the former president’s Mar-a-Lago property in Florida.

Multiple members of these toxic online communities are even posting what appears to be Judge Bruce Reinhart’s home address, phone numbers, and names of his family members alongside threats of extreme violence.

Below are quotes from the site and thus not subject to fair use limitations; they are terrifying: (We use asterisks to get around violent content that is prohibited on some platforms)

“This is the piece of shit judge who approved FBI’s raid on Mar-a-Lago,” a user wrote on the pro-Trump message board formerly known as TheDonald. “I see a r*** around his neck.”

Responding, another user wrote: “Idgaf [I don’t give a f*ck] anymore. Name? Address? Put that shit all up on here.” Moments later, a different member replied with what appears to be Reinhart’s current address, phone numbers, previous addresses, and names of possible relatives.

In another post on the same message board, one user commented, “Let’s find out if he has children….where they go to school, where they live…EVERYTHING.”

Children. Imagine how sick one has to be in order to bring up the children of a judge who simply signed a search warrant. And again, we remind everyone that we don’t know what was in the search warrant. The FBI and DOJ cannot release it, and Donald Trump, who could, wouldn’t dare because it could easily explain why the warrant was needed and the threat posed by not issuing the warrant.

This is beyond scary, and beyond the reaction we anticipated.
