American Airlines Intercoms Hacked: Watch as Passengers Hear Creepy Noises, Moaning, Screams

Some people are nervous fliers, to begin with. But what is happening to American Airlines’ intercoms sounds like enough to scare the bejesus out of the most experienced passengers. It sounds as though hackers have managed to get through to the intercoms on various flights, and they aren’t announcing a beverage service. Indeed, the hacking sounds, moans, and screams make the hair on the back of passengers’ necks stand up.

From One Mile at a Time, here is just one report from a flight attendant:

The pilot called back to the flight attendants to see if someone was trying to get in touch with the cockpit since their phone kept going off; when they picked up, someone was breathing into the phone but didn’t say anything.

Then the phone would start going off in the cabin, but when the flight attendants picked up, there was just a tone sound.

Then there would suddenly be loud breathing, groaning, and moaning noises over the PA, and “it sounded completely out of a horror film.”

Then the master power button near the forward left door would keep getting pushed and would shut down all IFE and seat power outlets.

Allegedly the two business class flight attendants said they were on the same plane the other day, and the same thing happened.

The flight attendant said they had a visual of each flight attendant every time this would happen over the PA.

And now there is video proof. It is creepy.

Obviously, the creepiness of the computer hack (or haunted plane, since it seems to be the same plane, and if you believe planes can be haunted… it’s a computer hack) is all bad enough as is. The expert at One Mile at a Time notes that it’s not just the PA but also calling into the cockpit, and the door, which ought to terrify the airline because if you can hack the cockpit communications phone, what else could one hack? The GPS system? Autopilot? It is impossible for us non-experts to know.

Let’s just hope that American Airlines has called in top experts from… whatever government department deals with the most high-tech of high-tech stuff before the screams start coming from passengers dealing with a plane that is losing systems.
