Trump Now Suggesting That the FBI Raided Mar-a-Lago to Find Hillary Clinton’s Emails

I’m starting to wonder if former President Donald Trump needs more meds. I say this because, as Uproxx notes, he’s rambling on again on hole-in-the-wall right-wing podcasts, claiming that the U.S. government has it in for him.

This time he popped up on The Wendy Bell Show, which is sponsored by Body by AIM 360 (no I don’t know what that is), but this gave the former president ample opportunity to once again yell about the recent FBI raid on his abode and then blame the whole shmear on Hillary Clinton.

So now can you see why I think Trump might need an increase in his meds? Or maybe a decrease, I don’t know.

As it stands right now, Trump is footing his own legal expenses in an epic fight with the Justice Department over evidence that he amassed dozens of boxes of classified materials at Mar-a-Lago, his Palm Beach, Florida home. These documents were supposed to have been surrendered to the National Archives before Trump left office. But that’s not what happened. The top-secret files were discovered strewn all over the floor in his home office.

But Trump is not the least bit embarrassed or sorry about this bizarre situation, whether it’s calculated deception that went haywire or a monumental lapse in judgment. Instead, he’s hopping on the airwaves to blame this mess on his nemesis, Hillary Clinton. Particularly her goldurned emails.

“I think they thought … who knows?” Trump told Bell. “Boxes full of stuff. I think they thought Hillary Clinton … there was something to do with the Russia, Russia, Russia … They were afraid that things were in there … part of their scam material because that’s what they are, they’re scammers.”

Of course, this is pretty much a word salad, which is not terribly unusual for Trump. But it also almost sounds like Trump was holding onto documents about Hillary Clinton’s emails and the whole Russian whatever at Mar-a-Lago.

I don’t know what Trump thought he would do with these documents. But he very clearly didn’t do the right thing — which would have been, of course, to turn them in, thus giving some heft to all the malarkey he’s been spewing for years.

It’s incredibly weird that he took this route instead, but we are talking about Donald Trump after all.
