George Conway Goes Viral With His (Scary) Takedown of Trump’s Disgusting Post About Mitch McConnell

We at this site already reported on Trump’s unhinged rant last night in which a grown man – sort of, used charitably – called Maggie Haberman “Maggot Hageman.” Because that’s how the “alpha male” former president rolls, he can match any playground bully. (But don’t you always sense that he’s just like South Park’s Eric Cartman? Always the tough talk, but then gets punched lightly in the nose, and he just starts crying.) Calling people embarrassingly silly names is the way to show you’re tough!

But Trump also had a post that wasn’t so pitifully hilarious, the one in which he lashes out at Mitch McConnell. Only in Trump World can Mitch McConnell become a somewhat sympathetic figure. Somewhat. Trump first asked whether McConnell was negotiating all these bills with the Democrats because he knows Trump opposes them and he’s trying to hurt Trump. Amazingly, it’s actually half-possible. Oh, McConnell isn’t signing on to the Green New Deal, but it’s sure possible that McConnell is trying to pull the GOP back from the brink a bit precisely because he hates Trump.

But it was the incitement to violence, saying that nothing forgives McConnell’s actions and that McConnell has a DEATH WISH, all caps in the original, that was the real outrage. Trump then proceeds to call Elaine Chao, Coco-Chow.

George Conway has seen this man up close and knows how to get under Trump’s skin while also highlighting the man’s dangerousness. Conway’s tweet below is a means to keep us from “normalizing” Trump and Trumpism. It is perfect.

Nothing to see here. Just a former president of the United States seeking to incite violence against the minority leader of the United States Senate and launching a racist verbal attack on the leader’s wife.

In one of the comments back to George, a MAGA says, “Crybaby.” As if this is just tough politics and not absolutely abhorrent.

It should never be normalized. Keep pushing back.
