Americans Disgusted After Elon Musk Shares Meme of Nazi Soldier, Then Tells Everyone to Vote GOP
HOW DID THINGS GET SO BAD???
I will never understand. Never. Yes, Trump won, that was supposed to be a fluke. But then people actually liked him and wanted MORE candidates like him. They wanted to be openly racist and sexist and transphobic. This is our country now. The shining city on the hill, my ass. We are becoming an awful country. And I am still in shock. I will never truly accept that people want a United States of America that looks like this. Never.
On Monday morning, Twitter’s new billionaire owner Elon Musk shared a meme to the social media site that contained a photo of a Nazi soldier.
“How times have changed,” the billionaire wrote in his tweet. Yes, they sure have.
The photo was photoshopped to include a small notification icon above a cage of messenger pigeons on the soldier’s back. Its caption read: “3 unread messages.”

“Back when birds were real,” Musk later wrote in a follow-up tweet, before adding additional commentary with a head-exploding emoji.

Accounting to Business Insider, “The photo that Musk shared was of a German soldier and his pigeons captured in May 1940 in France, according to Getty Images. During World War II, pigeons were used by both Axis powers and the Allies to distribute messages.”
Musk then called on his followers to vote for Republicans so they could gain control of Congress.
โTo independent-minded voters: Shared power curbs the worst excesses of both parties, therefore I recommend voting for a Republican Congress, given that the Presidency is Democratic,โ he tweeted on Monday.
โHardcore Democrats or Republicans never vote for the other side, so independent voters are the ones who actually decide whoโs in charge!โ added Musk.

Reuters journalist Kanishka Raj Singh dug up a tweet from Musk in April in which he said Twitter should be politically neutral.
Hi @elonmusk, in this tweet in April, you said Twitter should be politically neutral https://t.co/XHo9gPR2b5
How would you, as the head of Twitter, justify recommending which party people should vote for after you advocated for political neutrality for the platform?

So basically Musk just wants to burn everything down, and doesn’t care about fairness. Musk has already been blasted for his refusal to moderate ethnic and racial failures on the platform, as well as blatantly pro-Nazi tweets.
People on Twitter were horrified by the Nazi tweet:
Elon Musk is telling people to vote for Republicans and posting Nazi images.
Yeah, this is going well.

The Getty caption for this photo of a Nazi: "A German Wehrmacht soldier carries a cage of carrier pigeons used for relaying messages, on the western front during the German invasion of France, known as the Battle of France, in WWII, circa May 1940." https://t.co/u35qwBakoh https://t.co/FVHN9JqKvi

Good morning, I am noted billionaire spaceman Elon Musk. I will now tweet a picture of a Nazi. Hahahahaha. Isn't that funny. I will now use the social media platform I bought to encourage people to vote for Republicans Hahahaha. I am a disrupter! I am cool. Everyone look at me!!
