‘When You’ve Lost Breitbart’, The ULTIMATE MAGA Site Turns on Trump

As many have said, when you’ve lost Breitbart, your MAGA credentials are gone. Or Breitbart’s faith in all things MAGA is gone. We are watching MAGA morph into “America First” – led by anyone “like” Trump, but not necessarily Trump himself. DeSantis, Pompeo, Cruz, Hawley, etc., all qualify, while Trump circles the drain. First, the midterms, and now this. From Breitbart:

These latest revelations turn what could have been a minor story into a major national narrative, where the GOP frontrunner for president in 2024 — the former president and as of now the only formal GOP candidate for the office in the next election — seems to have met with an open white nationalist, antisemite, and Holocaust denier in Fuentes.

Fuentes’ now-shut-down YouTube page is shot-through with racist and antisemitic rants that date as far back as 2014.

Breitbart even published some of Fuentes worst moments:

Breitbart took Trump to task for sitting down with Kanye, or “Ye” as he wants to be called, just weeks after “Ye” himself, never mind Fuentes, after “Ye” talked about going “Def Con 3 on Jews.”

“Trump also meeting with West less than a month after his antisemitic comments — from threatening to go “death con [sic] 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE” to claiming that the “Jewish people have owned the black voice” — caused a media firestorm that is also newsworthy for multiple reasons,”

“First, Trump’s views on West’s antisemitic comments can’t go unknown. Secondly, West says he is also running for president in 2024 — he also says in the above video he asked Trump to be his vice presidential candidate — so why Trump would meet with a possible rival, however serious or unserious that person’s candidacy is, raises questions as well

This wasn’t just a dinner, either. Breitbart noted that despite Trump’s attempt at recovery (“I didn’t know who he was”) there was a lot of fawning at the dinner, according to Jonathan Swan – still writing for Axios but on his way to the New York Times:

Trump responded, “You like it better when I just speak off the cuff,” the source said. Fuentes replied that he did, calling Trump an “amazing” president when he was unrestrained. “There was a lot of fawning back and forth,” the source added.

But Trump says he didn’t know the other people.

So where does that leave Trump and Breitbart? That is hard to say. As noted earlier in the day in a report by Jason Easley, the GOP’s troubles with anti-Semitism overrun the party when and where they become relevant. For a party that was trying to move away from Trump after the midterms and worried about what to do with his candidacy and anticipated indictments, this event might give Breitbart and many others within the GOP the license they needed to write Trump off even further. In that sense, perhaps Nick Fuentes, wholly unintentionally, could do his country a great service.
