A Laughably Over Spray-Tanned Trump Posts Video Making ‘Diamond’s’ Memorial Service All About Himself

Donald Trump will be presiding over the memorial service for Diamond, half of the famed vlogging sisters Diamond & Silk, The Independent reports.

The former president made the announcement on Truth Social early Wednesday.

Diamond passed away on January 8, at the age of 51. Her official name was Ineitha Lynette Hardaway.

“Please join us on Saturday, January 21, in Fayetteville, North Carolina — she loved that state and so do I, as we celebrate thelife of Diamond,” Trump said in video posted to social media. “She lived it in a credible way and we’re gonna have a wonderful celebration and ceremony. All of Diamond’s family and Silk, we love Silk, her sister. She loved her sister so much and they loved each other. And they really loved the world. They were with me from the beginning and they never wavered. So we’re celebrate, Silk will be there, but I’ll be there, and we’re going to celebrate the life of Diamond.”

When he first noted Diamond’s passing on Truth Social, the former president wrote: “Really bad news for Republicans and frankly, all Americans. Our beautiful Diamond, of Diamond and Silk, has passed away at her home in the State she loves so much, North Carolina.”

Trump added that her sister Silk (Herneitha Rochelle Hardaway) was there “with her all the way, and at her passing.”

“There was no better team anywhere or at any time!” he wrote. “Diamond’s death was totally unexpected, probably her big and precious heart just plain gave out. Rest in peace our Magnificent Diamond, you will greatly missed!”

As the children of husband and wife Christian evangelists, the sisters rose to prominence while the 2016 presidential election campaign was underway after leaving the Democratic Party to become Republicans soon after Trump threw his MAGA hat into the ring.

On their joint Twitter account the sisters referred to themselves as “President Donald J. Trump’s Most Loyal Supporters.” The sisters have previously said they love him for his honesty.

It’s very sad that Diamond has passed away, but it’s also very sad that the sisters don’t seem to understand what a racist Trump actually is. If nothing else, people should remember what he said at the White Supremacist Unite the Right rally in August 2017 in Charlottesville, Virginia. A reporter was grilling him during a press conference at the time, and it went down like this:

Reporter, on August 15, 2017: You said there was hatred, there was violence on both sides …

Trump: Well, I do think there’s blame — yes, I think there’s blame on both sides. You look at, you look at both sides. I think there’s blame on both sides, and I have no doubt about it, and you don’t have any doubt about it either. And, and, and, and if you reported it accurately, you would say.

Reporter: The neo-Nazis started this thing. They showed up in Charlottesville. …

Trump: Excuse me, they didn’t put themselves down as neo — and you had some very bad people in that group. But you also had people that were very fine people on both sides. You had people in that group — excuse me, excuse me. I saw the same pictures as you did. You had people in that group that were there to protest the taking down, of to them, a very, very important statue and the renaming of a park from Robert E. Lee to another name. …

FactCheck.org noted Trump did actually condemn “KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and other hate groups that are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans,” in the days that followed. But that doesn’t excuse his earlier remarks. And it definitely doesn’t excuse his calling in the National Guard to put down a perfectly legal protest by teargassing unarmed citizens who were demonstrating over the death of George Floyd.
