Only two House lawmakers voted Monday against a resolution that mourns the nearly 50,000 people who died in earthquakes earlier this month in Turkey and Syria.

I’m willing to bet you wouldn’t have a problem guessing the first one: Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.). Her colleague Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky) also opposed the measure, HuffPost reports.

Fortunately, despite Greene and Massie, the resolution, which recognized “the work of humanitarian aid and rescue on the ground” and condemned “efforts by the Assad regime of Syria to exploit the disaster to evade international pressure and accountability,” passed 412-2.

But on Twitter, Greene showed she’s a huge hypocrite. Just like her fellow GOPers who offer “thoughts and prayers,” whenever Americans die in a mass shooting.

The resolution was sponsored by Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) and on the House floor he said that “to the brutal Assad regime and its backers — war criminal Putin, the authoritarian ayatollah in Iran — there will be a message your diversion of humanitarian aid during an earthquake is despicable.”

“The U.S. Congress stands united. We will never normalize with you,” Wilson added. “We will hold all those who attempt to normalize with you accountable, and we will not stop supporting the people of Syria to have a government they deserve based on democracy with rule of law, not authoritarians with rule of gun.”

Greene, who seems to want as much attention as former president Donald Trump, has called for the U.S. to quit funding Ukraine as Russia’s invasion continues. And Massie is another prize. Last year he voted against a bill that would make lynching a federal hate crime.

What a guy.

Greene is notably racist and Islamophobic. When she was a congressional candidate, Politico uncovered hours of Facebook videos full of her racist and anti-Muslim commentary. In the videos, she insisted Muslims do not belong in government, and that Black people are somehow “held slaves to the Democratic Party,” and has described George Soros, a Jewish Democratic megadonor, as a Nazi. Oh, and she’s also said that if she were Black, she would be “proud” to see a Confederate monument because, in her weirdly twisted way of thinking, it symbolizes the progress made since the Civil War.

The fact that she and Massie could oppose a measure to mourn the thousands who died in such a devastating tragedy is disgusting.

But that’s who Greene is. She’s disgusting on every level. Along with her racism and obvious Islamophobia, she’s anti-LGBTQ and it was truly a sad day when she was elected to Congress.
