Convicted Criminal Josh Duggar Placed in Solitary Confinement for a Potentially Very BAD Reason

Convicted sex offender Josh Duggar has been placed in solitary confinement after he was caught with an illegal cellphone in prison, RadarOnline reports.

The 19 Kids And Counting reality star turned prison inmate was sentenced to 12.5 years in prison or 151 months after he was convicted of possession of child pornography. Duggar, 31, now resides at FCI Seagoville Texas, where he’s serving his time.

But after being discovered with the illegal cellphone, he was given solitary confinement at the federal prison known for its harsh conditions.

A family member of an inmate housed at the prison where Duggar is incarcerated told The Sun that the Arkansas native was placed in Seagoville’s Solitary Housing Unit (solitary confinement) last week.

“He went into the SHU for having a cellphone,” the prison source said. “I can tell you that the SHU there is so bad that the regional office was just down there to see what was going on.”

Scores of inmates have been protesting the harsh conditions at the prison — especially its notorious solitary unit. According to the source, the prison violates inmates’ rights when they are placed in solitary confinement.

And this is a good thing for the most part. Why did Duggar need the phone? Was it as innocent as calling his family, or more sinister and criminal, like finding a way to access child pornography? After all, that’s the reason he’s locked up in prison to begin with.

“They’ve been keeping prisoners in the SHU indefinitely, not letting them have DHO hearings, which let them know when they’re getting out,” the source alleged.

NPR reports Duggar was arrested in April 2021 when a police detective in Little Rock, Arkansas found images of child porn that were being shared by a computer traced to Duggar. “Investigators testified that images depicting the s*xual abuse of children, including toddlers, were downloaded in 2019 onto a computer at a car dealership Duggar owned.”

TLC pulled the plug on 19 Kids and Counting in 2015 after allegations emerged that Duggar had molested four of his sisters and a babysitter several years ago. Officials began looking into the abuse in 2006 when they received a tip from a family friend. However, they concluded the statute of limitations on any charges surrounding this had expired.

At that time, Duggar’s parents said he had confessed to the behavior and apologized. When the allegations resurfaced in 2015, Duggar issued a public apology for unspecified behavior and resigned as a lobbyist for the Family Research Council, a right-wing Christian group.

Duggar’s parents said he had confessed to the fondling and apologized. After the allegations resurfaced in 2015, Duggar apologized publicly for unspecified behavior and resigned as a lobbyist for the Family Research Council, a conservative Christian group that has been classified as a hate group by The Southern Poverty Law Center because it purposely spreads misinformation about the LGBTQ community.

Prosecutors in the case had originally sought a 20-year sentence for Duggar, based on the graphic images and the fact that some of the victims were so young, and they referred to court testimony about the alleged abuse of Duggar’s sisters. In their sentencing memorandum federal prosecutors noted his past behavior “provides an alarming window into the extent of his sexual interest in children that the Court should consider at sentencing.”

“This past conduct, when viewed alongside the conduct for which he has been convicted, makes clear that Duggar has a deep-seated pervasive, and violent sexual interest in children, and a willingness to act on that interest,” the filing reported.

So perhaps instead of being a member of a hate organization that torments the LGBTQ community, Duggar should have sought additional treatment before he himself also obviously tormented others.

It might not surprise you to know that Josh and other members of his family have been fervent Trump supporters. Especially since Josh Duggar and the former president share some unfortunate similarities.
