Ivanka Slammed After Posting Photo of Son’s Injury and Asking Followers to Donate to the Hospital

Ivanka Trump is receiving a hefty Instagram smackdown after posting a photo of her son Theo who was rushed by ambulance to a hospital after suffering a broken wrist.

Trump, 41, posted a pair of photos of the youngest of her three kids with her husband Jared Kushner, 42, on the popular social media platform, Newsweek reports. The first photo shows the youngster, who’s 6, looking up rather woozily and smiling at the camera. In the next photo, we see him sleeping at home.

Trump, the former White House adviser to dear old dad, Donald Trump told her 7.5 million Instagram followers that Theo broke his wrist at school while playing soccer. She added she had “received a call from the school nurse that every parent dreads.”

“Since I was over an hour’s drive away, an ambulance took Theo, accompanied by the school nurse, to the closest hospital. Jared and I raced to meet him, Jared arriving at the same time as the ambulance and me getting there a few minutes later,” she posted.

The injury, she said, was a “bad break,” but commended the paramedics and medical staff at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, who “cared for Theo tenderly and professionally.”

“Theo’s visit culminated with two ice pops, which led to him declaring ‘this is the best day ever!’ The nurse turned to me and said, ‘This is why I’m in pediatrics! No adult in the emergency room has ever said something like that when given an ice pop.” Ivanka wrote.

“Jared and I are so grateful to the doctors, nurses, EMTs, and hospital staff who cared for our son. With gratitude in our hearts, we have made a donation to the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.”

She encouraged her followers to do the same and included a direct link to the hospital’s website.

But as you might guess, some of her followers weren’t particularly impressed and gave her a good chewing-out over the donation among other things.

“An ambulance over a broken wrist?” wrote Instagram user @clare_intheair.

“Donations shouldn’t be bragged about,” @crazylace54 added. “The highest level of charity is anonymous giving!”

And @blpjr73 couldn’t help but add: “Transport by ambulance, EMTs, doctors, nurses at the hospital and the school nurse rode with him? Notice he doesn’t have a cast, nor will he until the swelling goes down in a few days. Broken wrist is painful, so is growing up. So sorry for the other true emergencies that were delayed proper response so privilege can have special treatment.”

Theo’s accident comes at a nerve-wracking time for his dad. There’s a good chance he and his father-in-law Donald Trump may be investigated for their ties to Saudi Arabia.

In an interview, Rep. James Comer, a Republican who chairs the House Oversight Committee, told ABC News’s This Week on Sunday that an investigation into Kushner’s ties to the Saudis is “on the table.”

I think for most of us, this is a clear indication of just how different the wealthy are from the rest of us. How many of us really have affordable enough healthcare to use an ambulance to take a child with a broken wrist to the hospital? The Kushners don’t even have to think about the cost of this.

It’s a drop in the bucket for them.
