Ivanka Trump Throws Her Brothers and Father Under the Bus in New York Fraud Suit

Maybe Ivanka Trump is not daddy’s little girl anymore, because she broke with her father’s defense in a New York fraud case in a major way.

Bloomberg News’s Erik Larson reported that while Ivanka Trump joined her father and brothers to ask that the trial be delayed, she did it for a completely different reason, Raw Story reports.

Larson reports Ivanka Trump’s lawyer is arguing that the case is “not simple” because she left the Trump Organization in 2017. The attorney claims his client has a “unique” defense because she hasn’t been accused of lying about the company’s finances.

“The Complaint does not contain a single allegation that Ms. Trump directly or indirectly created, prepared, reviewed, or certified any of her father’s financial statements,” Ivanka Trump’s attorney said in a court filing earlier this week.

In a court document, her attorney alleges “that other individuals were responsible for those tasks.”

Attorneys for former president Donald Trump requested that the fraud trial be delayed from October 2 until deeper into the 2024 presidential campaign.

New York Attorney General Letitia James has alleged that Donald Trump and three of his children fraudulently manipulated real estate values for profit.

Judge Arthur Engoron has previously said the trial would be held on October 2 “come hell or high water.”

Ivanka Trump has distanced herself from her father in other ways as well. When her father announced his 2024 presidential intentions, Trump’s eldest daughter wished him well but said she has no intentions of working for him politically.

“I love my father very much,” she said on Instagram. “This time around, I am choosing to prioritize my young children and the private life we are creating as a family.”

“I do not plan to be involved in politics. While I will always love and support my father, gong forward I will do so outside the political arena. I am grateful to have had the honor serving the American people and I will always be proud of many of our Administration’s accomplishments.”

When the Capitol attack occurred on January 6, 2021, the strain on her must have been very real. Especially when she testified to the House January 6 committee that she’d “accepted” former Attorney General Bill Barr’s conclusion that Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory was legitimate. The video of Ivanka saying she’d accepted this caused her father to really lose it on Truth Social.

“Ivanka Trump was not involved in looking at, or studying, Election results,” Trump thundered. “She had long since checked out and was, in my opinion, only tryng to be respectful to Bill Barr and his position as Attorney General (he sucked!).”

It’s no wonder that she wants to keep well away from her father. It’s just too bad she ever became involved with his politics, to begin with. But Ivanka is every bit as grifty as her father. Indeed, Ivanka, Donald Jr., and Eric have cost taxpayers bushels of money.

Something worth remembering.
