Given Trump’s response to the Manhattan D.A.’s possible indictment – one that hasn’t happened yet and for which there is no guarantee – has been to scream on Truth Social, “PROTEST, PROTEST, PROTEST.” It doesn’t take a savant to see that A) Trump wants to maximize the social threat to intimidate any D.A. considering indicting Trump, and B) Given Trump’s response to the least important criminal matter, at some point, someone is going to die, perhaps a lot of people, due to Trump’s attempt to protect himself at all costs. “All costs,” including the lives of people he doesn’t care about, not when compared to indictments.
Alvin Bragg, the Manhattan D.A., has security with him now that the risk has gone up. But a lot of people who work in those buildings do not. Additionally, if federal indictments come down, federal buildings and FBI offices throughout the country will be threatened. But today, the first significant threat came down, a vow to kill Alvin Bragg. From NBC News [1]:
The FBI and NYPD are investigating a letter containing a death threat and white powder that was mailed to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, whose office is investigating former President Donald Trump, law-enforcement sources told NBC News.
The letter was addressed to Bragg and said, ““ALVIN: I AM GOING TO KILL YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!” the sources said. It contained a small amount of white powder. There were no evacuations or injuries, officials said.
In a statement, the DA’s office said the letter “was immediately contained and that the NYPD Emergency Service Unit and the NYC Department of Environmental Protection determined there was no dangerous substance.”
It has to be disconcerting to get those letters, even though one knows that people who send letters are some of the less likely to act. And this is just the first. We can expect many more, given Trump’s response to his indictments, that it’s all about Democrats trying to take their country… Trump is using warlike accusations, which will eventually lead to a quieter person or group lashing out violently.
Like this Truth Social post where Trump flat out mentions “death and destruction”, “What kind of person can charge another person, in this case a former President of the United States, who got more votes than any sitting President in history, and leading candidate (by far!) for the Republican Party nomination, with a Crime, when it is known by all that NO Crime has been committed, & also known that potential death & destruction in such a false charge could be catastrophic for our Country? Why & who would do such a thing? Only a degenerate psychopath that truely hates the USA!”
And the featured cover photo? The one with Trump hitting Bragg with a baseball bat? Trump posted that…then deleted it.
