Ivana Trump’s NYC Townhouse Is STILL for Sale and When You See the Interior You’ll Understand Why

Ivana Trump’s Manhattan townhouse is still on the market after nearly six months, Queerty [1] reports.

The townhouse, a sprawling 8,700-square-foot property on Manhattan’s Upper East Side was formerly a dentist’s office when Ivana purchased it in 1992 after her acrimonious divorce from Donald Trump and it has been sitting on the market since November 2022.

Not one single person has shown interest in buying it. Of course, the fact that it’s listed at a pricey $26.5 million may likely be part of the reason.

Then there’s the interior, which while it’s pretty it’s also quite gaudy. I actually think the pink marble flooring is beautiful, but there are all sorts of gold this’s and that’s, leopard print furniture, gold ceilings, crystal chandeliers, and gold-trimmed wallpaper. That’s a lot.

Fashion designer Dennis Basso, a longtime associate of Ivana Trump, told the online forum The Real Deal [4] devoted to New York real estate, that the home was her “idea of glam.”

“It’s a pretty facade,” he said. “But no one is buying the place and not redoing it. It may have been done by the best designer of its period, but nobody with this kind of money wants a 30-year bathroom, and that’s how long she was in that apartment.”

And there’s the sad fact that Ivana died in the home after tumbling down a spiral staircase a few days before her ex-husband and three adult children were scheduled to be deposed as part of New York Attorney General Letitia James’s investigation into the Trump Organization last summer.

That’s a lot of pink, and a lot of mirrors and a lot of gold…

Her death was ruled accidental but lots of us are superstitious, so there’s that.

And the biggest deterrent may well be that the home will forever be associated with the Trump family.

The New York Times reports that proceeds from the sale of the home will be divided between Don Jr., Eric, and Ivanka. Meaning that whoever does purchase the property will be stuffing their pockets with millions of dollars in a sale that will almost certainly be highly publicized.

Even worse, the new owner will be forced to deal with creepy MAGA types making pilgrimages to the property so they can take photos and leave freaky notes like the one that was taped to the front door of the residence last summer.

“She was so comfortable there,” middle son Eric told The Wall Street Journal when the home was listed last year. “It was the last possession in the world she would ever have gotten rid of.”

Ivana’s longtime friend, Zach Erdem, owner of the 75 Main Restaurant remembers her as a kind person who always helped other people.

“She was always supporting charities and everything,” he told People [7] magazine shortly after her death. “She was like an angel. Whoever needed help, she would be there. She didn’t care about any politics or religion or whatever, she was ready to help whoever needed it.”

“She was kind, she was an incredible mom,” he added. “She raised incredible kids, and was a great wife for Mr. Trump and she helped him. I wish I could have learned more from her. I was joking with her that I want to be a Trump. ‘Can you make me Trump as well?’ And she was like, ‘I’m working on it.'”

This makes it rather sad that Ivana was buried in such a meager place, somewhere in the back of Trump’s Bedminster, New Jersey golf club. She deserved better than that.
