Like former First Lady Melania Trump, Casey DeSantis, wife of presidential hopeful Ron DeSantis has a fondness for fashion, but that’s probably the only thing the two women have in common. And as their husbands spar for the Republican Party’s nomination, there are reports that Florida’s First Lady intends to be right by the Florida governor’s side, throughout his entire run.

As most of us know by now, Melania hasn’t appeared to be this way.

SheKnows reports the couple will promote their “equal partnership” on the campaign trail thanks to the fact that Casey is continually referred to as Ron’s “secret weapon.” He’s not as telegenic as his wife, a former TV anchor. This, Insider notes, has turned into a powerful message since “she both softens his image and hardens his positions, echoing his message through her own voice at events and on social media.”

While Donald Trump has said that Melania is “very enthused” about his third run for president, we know better than that because of her hermit-like existence when her husband became president. She stayed in New York City for six months after the 2017 inauguration with her son Barron. Anyone can see that Melania didn’t like being First Lady. That was very evident over the four years her husband was in office.

And Casey DeSantis is taking advantage of Melania Trump’s dislike of the spotlight by becoming the “fully supportive” wife — eager to serve and “engaged in her husband’s political rise.” Insider notes that Casey will appear in “all 99 counties in Iowa” with her husband this week. Obviously, she’s sending the message this campaign will be a family affair. Donald and Melania Trump don’t quite come across this way.

It’s too early to project who’ll become president, but there’s a good chance that Melania will be able to enjoy the privacy she treasures. It’s no secret that she was happy when her husband’s term of office ended and perhaps she doesn’t have to worry.
