Ugh, this is why we need term limits, and age limits. Because there comes a time for all of us where age just gets the better of us and we can’t perform our jobs to the best of our abilities. That happened to Mitch McConnell on Wednesday, and his humiliation was on camera for the whole world to see.
Now, even the most out-of-touch Senators should know what AI is at this point, and how they feel about it, but the concept was entirely lost on a dazed and confused McConnell.
In fact, the Senate Minority Leader stared in awkward silence, looking like a turtle caught in headlights, as he was asked, “What are your concerns as they relate to AI?”
It then took four different attempts of asking the question, and with each try Cocaine Mitch used a tried-and-true stall tactic such as “Repeat that again,” and “What is my concern about?” Then Sen. John Thune helped him out and loudly whispered to him, “artificial intelligence,” he again asked, “About what?”
McConnell finally understood the question, or not, and spit out a bland response that some young legislative aide in his office fed him at some point. “The issue is, what, if any uh, role does the government have to play here?”

And without fail, there were tons of people suggesting it’s time for the turtle to hang up his shell:
He is getting old, he needs to retire, he looks tired. Now at his age he is going to have to learn about a new technology like AI? Not going to happen, just retire

Feinstein, McConnell, Grassley, Collins, and others, please recognize that being a senator is NOT a lifelong privilege. Please go

McConnell fell & was out for 6 weeks. Never heard much about that in the MSM. Something tells me the grim reaper is coming for the grim reaper.

Maybe his fall did a bit more damage than we thought.

Maybe being 90 isn't the best base for governance.

Yet another example of why we need an upper age limit and term limits for everyone in #Congress [8] and judiciary branches, as well as #Executive [9] branch
