‘Angel Investor’ in Conservative Child Trafficking Movie ‘Sound of Freedom’ Arrested For Child Kidnapping
He’s one of thousands of patrons of the crowdfunded anti-child trafficking film The Sound of Freedom but he’s also recently been arrested and charged for child kidnapping, according to a court filing and numerous social media reports.
Fabian Marta has been charged with felony child kidnapping in July, while Facebook posts that have since been removed seem to show the same man revealing their pride in funding the film. Marta’s name appears in the movie’s credits among the “investors [who] helped bring Sound of Freedom to theaters, according to Newsweek.
This is ironic when you consider the fact that Sound of Freedom dramatizes the story of Operation Underground Railroad, an anti-child sex-trafficking organization, and its founder Tim Ballard, who is played by QAnon-believing dude Jim Caviezel.
St. Louis Metropolitan Police have since confirmed to Newsweek that Marta, 51, from Chesterfield, Missouri, was charged on July 21 and subsequently arrested on July 23.

Police also provided a mug shot of Marta, which seems to show the same person pictured on a Facebook account of the same name. Although Newsweek reviewed screenshots of since-removed posts from a number of online sources that show Marta talking up his involvement with the film, these sources couldn’t be independently verified.

But, many of those posts were saved, and here we have Marta bragging about being an “angel investor” and helping get the movie made:
Since I keep getting asked about Fabian Martaโs Facebook account being down, it isnโt. He just made it private after all the attention Iโve given him.
Here is his post about โSound of Freedomโ from July 9th. I exposed him on July 10th.

“The Sound of Freedom movie tackles a very tough subject, and took extraordinary effort to bring it to movie theaters,” one screenshot post said. “I’m proud to have been a small part of it. If you see the movie look for ‘Fabian Marta and Family’ at the very end of the credits.”
Marta’s next court appearance is listed in records as August 28. The records don’t yet list his legal counsel in the case. His bail was originally set at $15,000 but he was released on personal recognizance after he appeared in court on July 24. The nature of the incident pertaining to the criminal case isn’t clear.
Newsweek has approached Steven Capizzi, the Missouri state attorney prosecuting the case, and Angel Studios via email seeking comment on Friday but hasn’t heard back.
And Marta could be looking at some heavy-duty prison time if he’s found guilty. In Missouri, child kidnapping is a class A felony and he could face as much as 10 years to life in prison.
Sound of Freedom has shocked industry insiders because it’s doing well at the box office โ competing with and sometimes beating such films as Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny and Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One at the domestic box office in July. And the movie has attracted the support of Republicans and Democrats alike because of its subject matter, but it’s also attracted controversy because it stars Caviezel, who has enthusiastically espoused QAnon theories.
How sad that a man who backed a movie that takes a stand against child sex trafficking has been charged with allegedly kidnapping a child. I have to wonder if he’s a Republican because they are usually the ones to get into trouble over situations like this. The list of their infractions is definitely lengthy.
