Sweaty Trump Was So ‘Out of Breath’ During Last Iowa Speech Even the Biden Campaign Noticed

Over the years when former President Donald Trump spoke at rallies, fundraisers, or other events, he often appeared to be sweating profusely, slurring his words, looking disheveled and generally unwell. But at a rally in Iowa Wednesday, he seemed to be out of breath as he spoke.

And critics took note, Newsweek reports.

In video footage, Trump is seen pausing briefly at the end of his speech in Coralville and taking a deep breath as some rather over-the-top music plays. Puffing his lips out Trump went on to say: “We are a nation in decline,” when he ended his speech which included several barbs at President Joe Biden.

Because it wouldn’t be a Donald Trump speech if he didn’t.

As he was concluding his monologue, where he praised “Iowa patriots” who are “incredible people,” he stopped speaking and took a deep breath after saying “They poured their blood, sweat, and tears to make this country into the greatest nation in the history of the world.” Piano chords drifted from the speakers and Trump raised his eyebrows at his audience, which began cheering him on.

“Trump appears out of breath as bizarre music starts playing at his rally,” the Biden campaign posted on X, to the account Biden-Harris HQ. The tweet has been viewed more than 600,000 times since it was posted on Thursday.

Another person commented: “I haven’t seen Trump this out of breath since he stood on the White House balcony after leaving the hospital with Covid.”

Some Trump supporters responded, with one saying Trump “was very funny [and] enthusiastic, hit all the important points and he’s way ahead of crooked Joe.”

Another supporter added: “Trump made a great speech tonight in Iowa. Not too much longer, he will have a dominating victory! Save America!!”

The 77-year-old former president has referred to his health over the past year. In November he shared a report that he claimed was from his doctor. Trump added that the doctor said his cognitive health was “exceptional.” There apparently wasn’t much detail in the report but did say Trump “reduced his weight through an improved diet and continued daily physical activity.”

I’m not sure people would know this, considering the way he actually looks. If he’s lost weight, the amount must be minimal, and really he doesn’t look good. Trump can maintain this delusion for however long he wants but let’s be real here.

In an interview with The Washington Post just before he announced his 2024 presidential intentions, the former president noted: You always have to talk about health. You look like you’re in good health, but tomorrow, you get a letter from a doctor saying come see me again. That’s not good when they use the word ‘again.'”

Biden has faced continual questions about his health and cognition, but in February, a report of a physical by Dr. Kevin O’Connor said “Biden remains a healthy, vigorous, 80-year-old male, who is fit to successfully execute the duties of the Presidency.”

Indeed, Biden has stumbled in his speech now and then, but he certainly looks fit and never appears to be out of breath when he’s giving a speech. Trump, on the other hand, looks very much like he’s going downhill. I can’t emphasize enough how many times we’ve seen him sweating heavily and struggling to get through an event.
