‘F*CKING NO!’: GOP Official Say There’s NO WAY the RNC Will Pay Trump’s Legal Expenses

It’s really no surprise that former president Donald Trump wants his daughter-in-law Lara Trump to co-chair the Republican National Committee. She has already said the RNC needs to raise $500 million, mainly to help propel Trump back into office.

Looks like she’s going to face some opposition if she becomes RNC co-chair.

That’s because Chris LaCivita, who served as a senior adviser to Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign, said on Friday he won’t be paying the former president’s legal expenses with money from the Republican National Committee (RNC), according to Newsweek. As pretty much anyone who isn’t dead knows, Trump has almost unimaginably hefty sums of money to fork out over his fraudulent business transactions and his case involving E. Jean Carroll, who successfully sued him.

Indeed, Trump, who for some reason continues to be the GOP frontrunner for the 2024 presidential nomination, was fined roughly $355 million by Judge Arthur Engoron in the civil fraud case. Trump, of course, claims he’s innocent and that this was politically motivated and he has vowed that he will appeal the verdict. Because he lives in a fairy tale where he’s always innocent even when he’s guilty. Coupled with this whopping sum is another whopping sum, since he has been ordered to pay E. Jean Carroll, a former columnist for Elle, $83.3 million for defamation because he damaged her reputation after she revealed he sexually assaulted her in the 1990s. He was also ordered to fork over $5 million by a separate jury in 2023 for sexual abuse and defamation. And just as he always does, he’s claimed he’s innocent and is vowming to appeal these cases as well.

In total, the civil fraud ruling and two judgments in Carroll’s defamation case mean that Trump would be on the hook for approximately $542 million in judgments. And District Attorney General Letitia James reports that the interest payments in his civil fraud case totals a whopping $99 million and will “continue to increase every single day until it is paid.”

Ouch.

Ronna McDaniel, the current chair of the RNC, has told Trump she had plans to step down after the South Carolina primary which was held Saturday 24. It’s unclear when she will step down, however.

Of course, Trump would love to see Lara Trump take over as RNC chair, especially since she’s already said the RNC will use every penny to ensure her father-in-law would be re-elected in November.

“If I am elected to this position, I can assure you there will not be any more $70,000, or whatever exorbitant amount of money it was, spent on flowers,” she said. “Every single penny will go to the number one and the only job of the RNC. That is electing Donald J. Trump as the president of the United States.”

But LaCivita has been firm in reassuring others that Trump won’t be receiving more money. In an interview with NBC White House reporter Katherine Doyle noted his fiery response.”‘No,’ LaCivita says in South Carolina where Trump took the stage. Asked to clarify, he responds: “F****** no.”

And Michael Steele, the former chair of the RNC, who’s also a fervid Trump critic firmly batted Lara’s proposal away.

“I will start by saying: wrong answer,” he said appearing on MSNBC’s The Weekend last Sunday. “That is not the number one responsibility of the RNC to elect Trump. The number one responsibility is to elect every candidate on the ballot on behalf of the party. It is to raise money for those candidates who are on the ballot. It is to place the infrastructure every candidate will need.”

He also added: “You are required—so let me give you a little bit of training here Lara since you want the job—you are required to organize and coordinate every state party and the territories of the United States who are in that Republican family and you are to provide them with a platform from which you will launch a platform to talk about what the party believes in.”

I’m glad to see people like LaCivita and Steele sticking to their guns. Now if other Republicans, like say, Lindsey Graham, would gro a pair perhaps Trump would quit believing he can throw his weight around.
