So there’s one point where former President Donald Trump took a break from feeling sorry for himself to discuss Taylor Swift and he wondered if she is “legitimately liberal” or if it’s “just an act,” when it comes to the “Shake It Off” superstar’s political beliefs.

“I think she’s beautiful — very beautiful!” Trump replied after he was asked about Swift, according to the forthcoming book by Variety’s co-Editor-in-Chief Ramin Setoodeh, Apprentice in Wonderland: How Donald Trump and Mark Burnett Took America Through the Looking Glass.

In an excerpt released on Monday in Variety, Trump referred to Swift, saying “I think she’s liberal. She probably doesn’t like Trump,” per The Hill.

“But she is liberal, or is that just an act?” he asked Setoodeh.

“She’s legitimately liberal? It’s not an act? It surprises me that a country star can be successful being liberal,” Trump said. That led Setoodeh to note that Swift crossed over to pop music years ago.

Swift has once again dominated the charts after releasing The Tortured Poets Department, her 14th album to top the Billboard 200. But apparently Trump really doesn’t know much about Swift.

When asked about the “Eras” singer’s music, he said “Don’t know it well.

“I hear she’s very talented,” the ex-president said regarding the 34-year-old Swift and returned to praising her appearance once again. Because women only matter to this man if they are lovely, so of course, he noticed Swift, even if he knows little about her music.

“I think she’s very beautiful, actually — unusually beautiful!” he said.

You may remember that Swift endorsed Joe Biden in the weeks leading up to the 2020 presidential election, and added she would “proudly vote” for then-Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.).

“Under their leadership,” Swift said in an interview, “I believe America has a chance to start the healing process is so desperately needs.”

The New York Times reported earlier this year that President Biden’s campaign was actively seeking her endorsement for the 2024 race. And it’s no wonder why they are seeking this—according to Metro UK, she is the most popular artist in the world, with an estimated 58.23 million adult Swifties (the popular name for her fans) in the U.S. alone.

So it’s easy to see why the Biden campaign wants her endorsement. Let’s hope she does just that, because it’s pretty clear she dislikes everything Trump stands for. The singer has posted on Twitter (now X) about her feelings on Trump.
