Barron Trump Was Reportedly a ‘Loner’ at School, Didn’t Eat Lunch and Was Left Out of the Yearbook

A new exclusive from The Daily Mail, of course, reveals that Barron Trump was a charming kid, although also slightly a loner at the ritzy Florida private school where he graduated earlier this year. A former classmate said Barron was “funny and sociable” but always held back and didn’t participate in any extracurricular events at the school

โ€œHe would start the most random conversations and could be very entertaining,โ€ the friend told the Daily Mail. โ€œHe was also very mysterious. He never attended football games or dances. I donโ€™t think he met up with anyone outside of school or went on dates.โ€

Barron did attend his senior prom, as Oxbridge posted the photos to their Facebook page. It’s tough to find Barron in the photo, although being so tall makes it a little easier (he’s in the back, center/left).

Although the 18-year-old Trump didnโ€™t participate in sports, attend parties, or even eat meals in the lunchroom, his classmate remembered him as always happy to chat about his love for soccer and the mobile game Clash of Clans. It is unknown whether the 18-year-old Trump had a girlfriend, the friend said, but if so โ€œit was top secretโ€ and nobody at Oxbridge Academy ever knew about it. He was also reportedly scrubbed from the yearbook, which is quite odd. I assume that was Melania Trump’s call, but I can’t see how removing him from the yearbook would hurt him. It’s not like it wasn’t well known where Barron attended high school.

Donald Trump has always said Barron was a star athlete and soccer player, yet he didn’t play for his high school’s soccer team.

โ€œIโ€™m sure he had fun in his own way but it was a bit of a shame that he didnโ€™t get to have a normal high school life like everyone else.โ€

Fiercely protected by Oxbridge, which registered him under an aliasโ€”first name โ€œJackโ€โ€”in its administrative system to prevent hackers from getting his private information, the 6’9″ Barron was also trailed by Secret Service agents, according to the Mail.

โ€œHe had multiple agents who would rotate throughout the day and there was always one with him wherever he needed to go,โ€ his friend said. โ€œThe agents would stand right outside the door during class. If he went to the bathroom they would go with him and wait outside.โ€

At first it was seen as a disruption, but the agents soon faded into the background. โ€œIt became normalized,โ€ according to the friend. โ€œThe kids barely took any notice of the Secret Service.โ€

Barron graduated from Oxbridge, which reportedly boasts a yearly price tag of $41,500 and requires all staff to sign NDAs, in May. Photos showed Donald and Melania Trump sitting front-row for the ceremony.

Barron was noticeably absent from the RNC in Milwaukee, Wisconsin two weeks ago, but received a shout-out from his father onstage. Trumpโ€™s fond remarkโ€”โ€œWe love our Barronโ€โ€”got a big laugh from the crowd.

It remains a mystery where the teen plans to attend college in the fall. The Daily Beast reported that Barron was going to attend NYU, which would keep him, and mother Melania, in their beloved New York City. But there is always a chance he could go to the University of Pennsylvania like his father and most of his siblings did.

In keeping with his low-profile existence both during and after his fatherโ€™s presidency, he has mostly flown under the radar since graduation. He did, however, make an appearance at one of Trumpโ€™s campaign events in Doral, Florida earlier this month.

โ€œBarron Trump! Thatโ€™s the first time heโ€™s done it. Thatโ€™s the first time, right?โ€ Trump told a cheering audience. โ€œYouโ€™re pretty popularโ€”he might be more popular than Don and Eric. We gotta talk about this.โ€

Barron did not speak, but smiled and waved.
