As soon as her mom Kellyanne Conway voiced her support for Donald Trump’s vice presidential pick, Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), Claudia Conway jumped right in with an opinion of her own. And Claudia is very familiar with Vance’s strict, conservative opinions.
Trump, slated to be officially nominated as the Republican presidential candidate during the Republican National Convention (RNC) this week announced that Vance, who has represented Ohio since 2023, will join him on the GOP ticket as his vice presidential pick. Naturally, Trump supporters, many of whom have embraced Vance’s deeply conservative record in the Senate, according to Newsweek [1].
Now here’s the thing about the two Conway women: Kellyanne, of course, supports pretty much anything Trump says or does, having served him as an adviser during his time in office. She praised Trump’s choice in a post on X. “Senator @JDVance1 represents a new generation of America First warriors. His life experiences and vision equip him to fight for the forgotten men, women, and children alongside President Trump. Let’s win in 2024!”
Forgotten men, women, and children? Was she talking about the fabled “Bowling Green Massacre?” One of her “alternative facts” that never happened? [2] Who in the hell knows?
Claudia Conway, on the other hand, has been studying all along. She knows what Trump really is. She knows what Vance really is. She supports progressive policies and she responded to dear old Mom’s post by noting:
“Thought he called Trump ‘Hitler’? He did. Thought he said he opposes marriage equality and abortions for r*pe and incest? ..Oh right he did.”

In another post to X, Claudia responded to a clip where Vance discusses women leaving “violent” or “unhappy” marriages by adding “Major yikes.”
Vance has done quite the flip-flop on Trump, doing things like telling an associate on Facebook in 2016 that he was going “back and forth between thinking Trump is a cynical a**hole like Nixon who wouldn’t be that bad (and might even prove useful) or that he’s America’s Hitler,” Reuters reports.
Which could mean that Vance is a huge hypocrite, or perhaps thinks for himself. Since he’s a Republican I’m going to say it’s more likely the latter than the former. He has said he’s changed his opinion after meeting the former president in 2021.
But Vance also espouses right-wing views on a number of key issues — especially abortion. In 2021, he was asked whether he supports exceptions for rape and incest regarding laws that ban abortion, and he responded “two wrongs don’t make a right.”
So it’s easy to see why Claudia Conway, 19, dislikes Vance. She may be young, but I think she’s quite astute and she’s definitely gained plenty of attention over her political views. She’s willingly disagreed in public with her mom, including last May when she blasted her mother for posting about supporting Trump. She merely reminded Kellyanne that her former boss is now a convicted “felon.”
And she added: “P.S., I love my mom, but I can have an opinion too. Everyone deserves to have a say, you know?”
Now is a great time for me to remind you that if Trump is elected in 2024, we may no longer have that opportunity.
Just a thought.
Now here’s those tweets from mom and daughter.
