Steve Bannon Is Keeping Hours of Footage of Jeffrey Epstein Secret and People Want to Know Why
Now that Steve Bannon is spending four months in the pokey, he likely has time to think about a few things he possibly regrets. Especially now that light is being shed on a documentary he did on billionaire sex-trafficking creepo Jeffrey Epstein. Bannon, the dust-bunny dirtbag darling of the right-wing and the former editor of Breitbart whose accomplishments led him to a stint as former president Donald Trump’s right-hand man, may be cogitating on this right about now.
Evidently, according to The New Republic, Bannon spent months interviewing the billionaire ped@phile for a documentary.
Now why in the gefoodlehoppers would he do that?
Business Insider reported Wednesday that Bannon had amassed hours of footage of Epstein from his homes in Manhattan and Paris before he ended his own life in jail in 2019. The documentary was to be called The Monsters: Epstein’s Life Among the Global Elite.

In the five years that have passed since Bannon recorded all this footage, a small teaser trailer of the documentary from 2021 has been released. It shows Bannon arguing with Epstein over his treatment of women. So far it’s the only trailer that’s been released.
And folks, let me tell you, this is really, really weird. Bannon’s ultra-right-wing audience almost certainly hated Epstein, and having such exclusive footage of this creep would likely pull in even more extreme viewers. It’s anyone’s guess why Bannon thought this would be a good idea.
There is the possibility that he has now buried all this because it doesn’t exactly make him look good. He met Epstein in December 2017 shortly after he quit working for then-President Trump. Bannon spent a bucketload of time with Epstein in the summer of 2018, allegedly for the documentary. But associates of both men say Bannon’s documentary wasn’t serious at all.
The associates told Insider that the men acted more like friends than foes, and Bannon was trying to help Epstein with public relations. He was purportedly advising Epstein on how to handle the legal and journalistic investigations that were certain to come. Bannon continued spending time with the disgraced billionaire over the next year when Epstein was arrested on sex-trafficking charges.
I wonder if Bannon is reflecting on any of this, now that he has all this extra time. Because the legal cases connected to the fortunately deceased billionaire are still ongoing, including the criminal sex-trafficking trial of his girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell, but the footage has remained elusive and yet to be seen. Mark Epstein, Jeffrey’s brother, told Insider in 2023 that he’d received some of the footage, but added when he asked Bannon about the rest of the footage, he was rebuffed.
โHe told me he had like 16 hours of videotaping with Jeffrey in his vault,โ Mark Epstein said. โAnd he told me it was protected because it was witness preparation and it was protected under attorney-client privilege. But the thing is, Bannonโs not an attorney.โ
Of course, the reason Bannon is serving a four-month prison sentence is that he was convicted of Contempt of Congress after he refused to respond to a subpoena to testify before the House January 6 committee. So is he refusing to release the footage because it would show him in an even more unflattering light in addition to his conviction? Or could he be worried that it would reflect poorly on his buddy Trump, who was once an associate of Epstein’s?
So many questions. So few answers. This is just one of many mysteries about Epstein that will likely never be resolved. But then maybe they don’t have to be. We know Epstein was a nasty character. We know Trump and Bannon are nasty characters. Could some of this video have to do with Trump and what happened between Trump and Epstein’s young “guests”?
Epstein is dead and if there’s a hell, he’s probably right where he belongs. Perhaps Trump and Bannon will join him there. We can hope, anyway.
