It’s a hallmark of a desperate person to attack someone on a personal level. But it’s especially disgusting when what you attack with is either something that was out of their control, or a complete fabrication.
That’s the case with Donald Trump’s latest Truth Social message, which is aimed squarely at his former rival Hillary Clinton and his current one, Kamala Harris.
Being a misogynist is easy. All you have to do is take a man and remove all reason and accountability, then give him a social media account. It’s obvious that’s exactly what’s happened to Donald Trump.
I would say over the years, but it seems like he’s always been this way. More than 30 years ago, when he was a spry 46 years old, he could be heard remarking about a preteen girl ascending an escalator, saying he’d be dating her in ten years.
We’ve seen countless hours of footage of him telling beautiful reporters that they wouldn’t have their jobs if they were less attractive. He’s talked about spying on beauty pageant contestants backstage. He bragged on the Access Hollywood tape about his ability to sexually assault any woman he likes because of his power and fame.
All of that was before he was president, though.
You’d think that a normal person would recognize when it’s time to stop saying disgusting things like that and act like a grown-up. Trump is not normal, though. That’s why he reposted a tweet from X over on his Truth Social account that should make any human blush.
Relying on people’s memory of Bill Clinton’s affair with Monica Lewinsky (that centered on a specific sex act), and the gigantic lie his campaign and their supporters have been fostering for more than a month about Kamala Harris’ relationship with former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown (and her allegedly using that same act to get hired for a job), Trump reposted this:
You’ll note that this isn’t just Trump saying it, either. This is him specifically capturing not just the picture, but the comment that turns the picture into the gross insult that it is.
Now that his Trump Media stock price is in the teens, he must figure he can just use it as the dumpster everyone just throws their most horrifying right-wing garbage into when they need to say something awful but will get a Facebook ban for doing it over there.
Obviously people were outraged, with one commenter saying that the two women should sue Trump for posting it. Another prominent tweeter told readers to remember what kind of person Trump is when it comes time to vote.
Unfortunately, there were just as many idiots who agree with his “sense of humor” as there are reasonable people who think this is horrible.
That’s what got us where we are today.
