Americans Are Disgusted at Desperate Trump’s Newest Attack Against Kamala, ‘He’s Lost Whatever Sanity He Had Left!’

First, conservatives mock people who work fast food jobs. They denigrate what those workers do, and constantly say it’s not worth paying them a living wage to do it.

Now, Donald Trump is trying to claim that Kamala Harris is LYING about having worked at McDonald’s when she was younger, because it paints her as someone with more in common with the average American than him.

I mean, that tracks as far as something Donald would say. It’s just ironic that he would just turn 180° on something so fundamental to Republicans. Despite the fact that we have something called the “Big Mac Index,” a metric (that’s been around for almost 40 years) by which we measure fair wages around the world, the GOP has it so engrained in their voters that minimum wage jobs are for kids that none of them take it seriously.

So Trump’s new line of attack is a pretty big departure. Not that it will matter to adherents to his cult. Donald Trump could say that blue shirts should be illegal, and his voters would burn them in droves. You’d see the smoke from outer space.

But there’s a method to his madness.

Trump needed a story to recover from his PR disaster at Arlington National Cemetery, where he had his picture snapped giving a thumbs-up over the grave of a soldier in an area of the national monument off-limits to cameras. Two senior members of his campaign shoved a woman out of the way so the cameras could get through for him to film a TikTok video and a campaign ad.

All in violation of perhaps the law, if not at least the rules of ANC. You know, the most sacred place in America for the US military.

So over on Truth Social, Trump decided to try and turn the news back to Kamala, but only in a negative light. He can’t have her eating up TOO much of the news cycle, after all.

Harris, since she became the Democratic nominee for President, has noted on the campaign trail a number of times that she worked at the legendary fast food chain briefly between semesters while she was in college.

That didn’t sit well with Trump, who tried out his new attack line first at a Moms For Liberty convention:

She also said, ‘I worked at McDonald’s.’

Turned out she didn’t work at McDonalds. After an exhaustive study that took about 20 minutes, they found out she never worked there.

The problem for Trump is, no such “study” ever took place. He literally made up every word of that out of whole cloth. Well, not about her saying she’d worked there, but he presented zero proof that she didn’t work there, and more importantly, there’s no “they” to ask about this. Nobody looked up anything.

The whole thing came from right-wing “news” site the Washington Free Beacon, who questioned her story because she didn’t include it on a resumé when she was applying for law clerk positions shortly after that time.

Trump ran with that straight to his social media platform, saying “Comrade Kamala Harris lied about working at McDonalds. SHE NEVER WORKED THERE, they think she’s ‘nuts.’

Then he posted the same message [3] AGAIN, fake picture of her in a Mickey D’s hat and all.

Harris brought up her job there way back in 2019, when she joined a worker’s picket line, telling the crowd “If we want to talk about these Golden Arches being a symbol of the best of America, well, the arches are falling short. We have got to recognize that working people deserve livable wages.”

“I did the french fries and I did the ice cream,” she told the workers.

But in maybe the MOST ironic twist, Kamala didn’t bring it up that day for the reason that Trump is mad about it. She brought it up specifically to dispute the common refrain of conservatives, that it’s a job for teenagers, and to point out that she was lucky she didn’t need to have the job to pay her bills:

“There was not a family relying on me to pay the rent, put food on the table and keep the bills paid by the end of the month. But the reality of McDonald’s is that a majority of the folk who are working there today are relying on that income to sustain a household and a family.”

Indeed, the average age of minimum wage workers is 35 years old today, and the vast majority — nearly 90% — are over age 20.

If you’re going to be mad about something, be mad about the fact that Trump has done and will do nothing to solve that problem, and that the federal minimum wage hasn’t increased in 15 years.

According to the Big Mac Index, in fact, the price of that particular sandwich has gone up nearly 65% since 2009, the last time the minimum wage went up. Guess who’s made record profits that entire time. Guess who finally increased their entry-level wages after people like Kamala started agitating for change.

Trump can make up stories all he wants, and nobody calls him on it. I can’t wait until she produces a document proving she did work there, and how she made just over $3 an hour back then to do it.
