Bettina Anderson, the Instagram model and darling of Palm Beach, Florida, made her and Donald Trump’s oldest son, Don Jr., the talk of the town when they were seen “canoodling” at a posh restaurant.

Witnesses said she knew what his “regular” order was there, that she was caressing his leg under the table, and that it was clear they’d been cavorting for some time together.

It turns out nobody knew quite HOW long.

Although the rumored affair — remember, Junior is engaged to Kimberly Guilfoyle — wasn’t reported until this month, the date took place back in August. But they were seen together before that, even, after a closer look at some pictures from the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.

The RNC took place all the way back in early July. Photos show Anderson sitting next to Junior’s ex-wife Vanessa (who he reportedly cheated on with singer Aubrey O’Day). The two are said to be close friends.

In another photo from July 8 at the RNC, Anderson can be seen in the background just one row directly behind Junior as he poses for a photo with Trump superfan Hulk Hogan. That picture is actually posted on Junior’s Instagram.

The story came in waves.

First, there was the initial report of the date, in which a source told reporters that “She seemed totally smitten with Don — and he with her,” adding that “They were definitely on a date. They weren’t exactly making out, but the kisses were romantic, and you could tell they were intimate with each other.”

Then as the story unfolded, it was speculated that Kimberly probably knew about the affair but wasn’t saying anything. That was based on another insider who said “Kimberly either didn’t know about Bettina — or didn’t want to know. Did she hear whispers that Don Jr. was fooling around with someone else? Probably.”

“Don Jr. is not one to account for what he does — not to Kimberly or anyone — except maybe his father,” concluded the insider.

Now that the convention photos have been scrutinized, there’s more to the tale on why Kim may be deciding to stay — and why Junior hasn’t just dumped her for the new girl.

“[Kimberly] has been so entrenched in the campaign it would look bad to humiliate her,” the source said. “But you could see the writing on the wall at the convention. Sure, she was given a platform but the vibrations in the former president’s box were not good ones between her and Don. She seemed odd woman out.”
