In New Transgender Attack Ad, Ted Cruz Goes So Low, If He Was in Death Valley, He’d Complain About a Fear of Heights
This man is despicable.
A school district in Oregon has sent a sternly worded letter to the Ted Cruz campaign during his contest with his Texas Senator’s race opponent Colin Allred.
In the letter, the Beaverton School District asks Cruz to stop using an attack ad featuring a script accusing his Democratic opponent of voting to “allow boys in girls’ sports.” Why was the school angry? Well, because the photo used in the ad shows two girls who are underage, whose parents did not give permission for their likenesses to be used, and who aren’t even transgender.
That’s right, the letter said that the ad “implies at least one of the athletes in this photo is transgender,” but that neither girl pictured actually is. I wonder which set of parents Ted Cruz would like to personally tell that he thinks their beautiful teen daughter looks like a boy to him.
“It is alarming that your campaign would have produced/distributed/promoted this ad with false information, especially with minor children involved,” the letter read, according to the Houston Chronicle.

While the Cruz campaign says the ads are no longer on the air — they were originally shown during Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans NFL games — the offending one is still on YouTube:
The District told the Chronicle that they’d received no response from the Cruz campaign.
For his part, the more-popular-than-you-might-imagine Allred has treated Cruz’s attacks as desperate. During a debate earlier this month, Allred called the transgender attacks a “Hail Mary,” saying “What he wants you thinking about is kids in bathrooms, so you’re not thinking about women in hospitals.”
That sounds just about like Ted Cruz.
Allred went on during the debate: “What I think is that folks should not be discriminated against, and what Sen. Cruz should explain to you is why he thinks that they should.”
That’s a pretty fair thing to ask, if you ask me. The “support” that Cruz has accused Allred of having for boys in girls’ sports is based on unanimous Democratic House opposition to a Republican bill that would have been draconian in nature in its bans on various trans-related rights.
Strategists have said that many Republicans are trying to reach suburban women with the anti-trans attacks. They’ll need to win some back, after what they helped Donald Trump do to abortion rights.
