Now That Don Jr. and Kim Seem Headed for a Split, It Turns Out Most of the Trumps Never Liked Her

Another pebble in the road for the Trump clan.

This is always the modus operandi for the Trump family: When something goes south, when it starts to go bad, they all make like they never liked it to begin with. That goes double for anything that becomes unpopular even without Donald himself turning sour on it.

Case in point: Kimberly Guilfoyle. The former Fox News personality has been dating Donald Trump Jr for years, and got engaged to him four years ago on New Year’s Eve. But it may not have always been sunshine and roses — or at least that’s the story coming out now.

A source close to the family says that “despite what the Trumps might say in public, they were never fully behind Kimberly.”

I’m not sure I’d want to be within ten feet of her myself. Of course, that’s because we’ve known she was bad news from the beginning. The whole reason she “departed” from Fox was because of a 42-page complaint that another Fox employee forked over to the bosses accusing Guilfoyle of repeated sexual harassment and demanding money.

The fact that the woman doing the accusing and Fox settled out of court never looks good for a defendant.

The whole thing stinks of high intrigue, anyway: The “source” with the info on the Trump family’s true feelings is from the National Enquirer. You might remember that newspaper for such hits as Bat Boy Leads Cops on 3 State Chase! and Man’s 174-mph Sneeze Blows Wife’s Hair Off!

Oh, and that part where the former owner, David Pecker, testified in April during Trump’s hush money case that he sat on real stories about Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal’s affairs with the president-elect on Trump’s behalf.

The source went on: “Some of them were even turned off by her, though they’ll never admit it. She’s viciously ambitious and tries WAY too hard with the family,” they said. “Let’s just say that Don Jr. and the rest of them got the distinct impression that Kimberly liked the idea of being a Trump more than she liked him.”

That’s weird, because that almost seems like a prerequisite for joining the clan. I think every member of the Trump family likes having that last name more than they like their relatives. In fact, Tiffany’s the only one who’s even changed her last name from dad’s famous surname.

But in reality, it’s surprising that they took on Kim in the first place. In fact, at the risk of sounding like I’m sympathizing with the Trumps, Kim’s backstory with the lawsuit is enough to make anyone a little wary of her — although it does specifically sound like behavior that Junior would hold in pretty high regard.

An October 2020 article in The New Yorker had the details, although the names were left anonymous:

The woman was hired in 2015, just out of college, to work as an assistant for Guilfoyle and another former Fox host, Eric Bolling.

According to a dozen well-informed sources familiar with her complaints, the assistant alleged that Guilfoyle, her direct supervisor, subjected her frequently to degrading, abusive, and sexually inappropriate behavior; among other things, she said that she was frequently required to work at Guilfoyle’s New York apartment while the Fox host displayed herself naked, and was shown photographs of the genitalia of men with whom Guilfoyle had had sexual relations.

The draft complaint also alleged that Guilfoyle spoke incessantly and luridly about her sex life, and on one occasion demanded a massage of her bare thighs; other times, she said, Guilfoyle told her to submit to a Fox employee’s demands for sexual favors, encouraged her to sleep with wealthy and powerful men, asked her to critique her naked body, demanded that she share a room with her on business trips, required her to sleep over at her apartment, and exposed herself to her, making her feel deeply uncomfortable.

I don’t know about you, but I kind of feel gross knowing any of that.

As far as Don Junior and Kimberly breaking up, sources said that it could just be something as simple as Junior losing interest. “Don and Kimberly haven’t been getting along for a while now — perhaps as long as a year,” they said, and that tracks. That’s the same way his father treats people — when he gets bored of them, he fires them or treats them so badly they want to leave.

Junior was infamously seen earlier this year canoodling with an Instagram model, and then Kim was conspicuously absent from a family photo on election night that even Elon Musk made it into.

All I’m saying is, if they actually DIDN’T like Kim from the start, I can’t say I really blame them.
