The White House Wants Everyone to Believe Donald and Melania Are Madly in Love — They Fail Miserably

The White House celebrated first lady Melania Trump’s 55th birthday with a series of photos spotlighting some of the highlights of her time at the White House. They also posted a tweet attempting to show Donald and Melania madly in love…and it failed miserably.

Melania, a Catholic, and Donald Trump had spent much of her birthday in Rome on Saturday to attend Pope Francis’ funeral in Vatican City before giving each other a parting kiss and splitting up at Newark airport later in the day.

Neither Melania nor the president marked the occasion on social media, but the White House spotlighted 20 photos of the first lady.

Photos highlighted by the White House include images of her at the White House Easter Egg Roll, touring the pyramids in Egypt, dancing with the president, arriving at Sicily’s Sigonella Air Force Base, promoting her Be Best initiative and flying on Marine One.

Throughout her time as first lady, Melania has been very protective of her privacy and kept up a limited public schedule. Aside from attending major events such as the president’s address to a joint session of Congress last month, the first lady has used her bully pulpit to draw attention to causes she feels are important. Last month, for example, the first lady made a rare visit Capitol Hill to champion bipartisan legislation combating revenge porn.

Before her husband was sworn into office for his second term, she inked a whopping $40 million deal with Amazon to film a documentary on her life.

That documentary is slated to be directed by “Rush Hour” auteur Brett Ratner and feature cameos from familiar figures such as the president and their son Barron, who is studying at New York University’s Stern School of Business.

“She’s been very savvy about what she says … Melania has gotten more comfortable speaking in front of people and on TV,” a source previously told Page Six about the deal.

“She is more confident and has taken full control of her public image which she knows is worth millions and she’s ready to be paid for the work she puts into the doc and revealing more about herself.”

The first lady is the executive producer on the project, which is largely seen as a way that Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has worked to get on better terms with her husband.

The White House also put up a clip of Donald and Melania kissing goodbye, and said, “Find someone who looks at you the way POTUS looks at FLOTUS”.

There is absolutely nothing loving or romantic about that kiss. In fact, it looks like Melania can’t wait to get away from Donald. They aren’t even going to the same place…Melania is going to NYC and Donald is going to Bedminister.
