MAGA Couple Fuming Mad Over $640 Trump Watch With ‘Embarrassing’ Spelling Error

A couple is fuming over what they consider a very unfunny spelling error – despite the internet’s amusement over the error. Tim Petit bought his wife Melanie a pink, $640 watch from GetTrumpWatches.com, a company that licenses the Trump name to sell merchandise.

Hearing the president’s voice on a commercial for the watches, Petit knew his wife would love a particularly girly Inauguration First Lady model. When he learned there were only 250 of them, he jumped at his chance to buy. But what arrived in the mail apparently made Melanie cry.

“I noticed it right away,” Melanie told WJAR. “The T is missing. It just says R-U-M-P.”

It’s a $640 ‘RUMP’ watch. “It has a nice little case. It has the pink and little fireworks on it,” Melanie explains. But despite all those design efforts, manufacturers managed to get broken clocks. If only they could turn back time.

“I’m very disappointed. I wanted to do a special thing for her. And we expected that it would have the integrity of the president of the United States and good follow-through,” Petit told the local station.

“How could they process this and go through something without checking their work?” said Melanie.

The watch’s website advertises that it will bring “prosperity and love while enhancing intuition and creativity.” While the Trump Watches are “not designed, manufactured, distributed or sold by President Trump, the Trump Organization, or any affiliates,” the LLC does use the U.S. leader’s voice and images for advertising.

The U.S. leader is in the video commercial on the Trump Watch site, saying, “It’s Trump time.” His voice is also used in radio ads.

“I think that someone [on the Trump team] needs to be aware of it in their licensing department, that someone’s dropped the ball big time,” Tim Petit added.

When he first contacted the site, the couple received an unsatisfactory answer. However, after GetTrumpWatches.com was contacted by WJAR, an NBC affiliate, the company contacted the couple within hours and offered them the best of its customer service.

The couple received a full apology, a Trump watch replacement, and an $800 coupon to buy something else on the site.
